Overflowing Cups: Exploring Wine and Supporting Women - Women in Medicine Event - Tuesday October 20
The CMA’s Women in Medicine Committee is excited to host a virtual wine tasting developed specifically for local women in medicine. The Refectory Restaurant expert Sommelier, Chris Dillman, will lead attendees through “Wines Off the Beaten Path”. The tasting package includes 4 wines and a petite cheese plate.

Also joining the event, Kathy Jackson of the organization called I Support the Girls”. Kathy works tirelessly to collect bras (new and gently used), toiletries, and donations to give to local women in homeless shelters and in schools. Space is limited so RSVP today!
November Election: Why Do Some Doctors Care So Much about “Judicial Philosophy” and “Tort Reform”?
As a local medical society, the CMA did not take a position on state-wide elections such as the race for Ohio Supreme Court Judge. But, the Ohio State Medical Association did and for younger doctors the OSMA's endorsed candidates might not make sense or matter to them, while older doctors have a completely different perspective.

Take a look at this interesting article from Malcolm Porter to get a brief background on the issue of medical liability insurance, Ohio’s tort reform law, and how that applies to the Ohio State Supreme Court race.
Voting Information for 2020 Election
Absentee Voting
  • Requests for absentee ballot must be sent to the Franklin County Board of Elections. For the absentee request form.
  • Absentee ballots requests that have been received by the Board of Elections will begin to be mailed out on October 6
  • Track the status of your absentee ballot at franklincountyvotes.com
  • Completed ballots can be mailed back to or dropped off at the Franklin County Board of Elections, including a 24/7 locked drop box. For more information.

Early In-Person at the Board of Elections (1700 Morse Road)
  • In-person voting can be done at the Board of Elections during selected days and hours, beginning on October 6. For dates and time.

Election Day at Local Precinct
Because of the complications related to COVID-19, it is more challenging than ever for the Board of Elections to recruit the needed workers to staff local voting locations. Franklin County needs 5,500 people to work on Election Day. For more information:

On Tuesday October 27 at 7 pm, the CMA will be hosting a cook along zoom event with Dr. Elizabeth Lottes facilitating and Dr. Rosemary Riley leading the cooking portion of the event.

The menu includes Vegan Tomato Bisque and a Tomato Bisque with Cream option along with a vegan Stovetop Ratatouille.
