Columbus Medical Association Celebrates Women's History Month: Dr. Virginia Apgar

Take a moment to learn a little about Dr. Virginia Apgar!

She was an American physician and anesthesiologist who developed the Apgar Score System, a way of evaluating a newborn’s health shortly after birth.

Made for Medicine Graduates its Second Cohort in White Coat Ceremony

Last Friday, sixteen Franklin County 6th & 7th graders packed into the Columbus Medical Association along with their families to graduate from phase 1 of the CMA’s Made for Medicine program in a White Coat Ceremony.

“The White Coat Ceremony is a right of passage and a journey toward a career of medicine.” Said Made for Medicine founder, Dr. Laura Espy-Bell, during the event “When you put it on, savor the moment.”

March has Been a Month of Advocacy at the Columbus Medical Association

Throughout the month of March, the CMA Advocacy Committee has been meeting with Central Ohio politicians to discuss the state of the medical field.

CMA Public Policy Meeting April 7

This meeting's agenda will discuss the status of healthcare issues, the implications of the unsuccessful efforts to draw new legislative and Congressional districts, review small group legislator meetings and make plans for legislative endorsement recommendations this summer.
