Last month the Ohio House of Representatives passed HB 218, a bill that opposed vaccination mandates by broadening vaccine exemptions so that most workers and students could easily supply a written statement to refuse a vaccine requirement. The bill would also forbid entities from requiring proof of vaccination to enter facilities or receive services.
Based on public health concerns the CMA is a part of the Vaccine Coalition of healthcare and business organizations that has successfully been opposing several different attempts to limit employer workplace rights to have a vaccination policy.
However, with the House's approval of HB 218, we are now faced with convincing the Ohio Senate to stop this bill.
The Coalition is asking individual members to express their public health concerns about this kind of "medical freedom" legislation.
Physicians who are willing to share their views can use the information below to communicate with the Ohio Senate.
