Made for Medicine is Now Accepting Applications

Made for Medicine opened up their first ever application submission period this week.

This new physician-led initiative comes from the mind of Dr. Laura Espy-Bell and is made possible thanks to the CMA Foundation.

Made for Medicine is designed to support and increase the number of African American or Black students with an interest in the field of medicine.

Thanks to Attendees of the CMA PAC Fundraising Event

Thanks to the two dozen CMA members who participated in last week's CMA PAC event that featured the President of the Franklin County Commissioners, Kevin Boyce.

In addition to raising PAC funds, the meeting included an extended conversation about the challenges of addressing the social determinants of health that are outside traditional patient/physician interactions.

CMA affiliated organizations of the Physicians CareConnection and the Healthcare Collaborative of Greater Columbus are central to some of the innovative work in this area in our community.

The County Commissioners are a key partner in these efforts.

CDC Health Advisory: Guidance for Clinicians Caring for Individuals Recently Evacuated from Afghanistan

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that clinicians be on alert for cases of measles that meet the case definition, as well as other infectious diseases, including mumps, leishmaniasis, and malaria, among evacuees (including both Afghan nationals and U.S. citizens) from Afghanistan. Clinicians should immediately notify their local or state health department of any suspected cases of measles.....
