It’s Volunteer Appreciation Week and the Physicians CareConnection wants to celebrate all those who donate their time and expertise to help provide medical and dental care to Central Ohio’s vulnerable population. Last week, we rolled out our virtual panel discussion on COVID-19 Long Haulers. This week we want to highlight two of the 6 panelist discussions. Take a moment to watch Dr. Joseph Gastaldo, an infectious disease physician with OhioHealth, and Dr. Laura Gravelin, a cardiologist with Mount Carmel, discuss long-term COIVD, what its origins might be, and how to treat it.

Join the CMA's Women in Medicine Community on May 11 from 6 pm - 7 pm for a nature hike through Kiwanis Riverway Park. The walk will be led by Dublin Parks Nature Education Coordinator, Barbara Ray, where she'll highlight birdlife and other nature.

For those who might have missed this week's Culinary Medicine on Salt and Breadmaking, I encourage you to watch the recording in the Culinary Medicine library. Dr. Robert Balchik teaches so very much about flour and bread-making equipment and salt. And Chef Laura demonstrates the recipe in easy-to-follow steps which through the magic of making three separate loaves produces a wonderful baked loaf by the conclusion. There will be no cooking in the month of May but we will return for our first in-class get-together on June 15 at the CMA offices. The theme is Sharing with Food. Everyone is invited to bring a dish of their own favorite creation along with recipe sheets. More info will be forthcoming.
