Culinary Medicine | Harvest in the Fall | Event Recap
“The conversation around sodium has me rethinking how I can approach the conversation about low sodium diets with my patients.”
-Harvest in the Fall Attendee

It was another yummy, informative, and fun event for the CMA’s Culinary Medicine Community this past Tuesday. The Harvest in the Fall attendees were able to virtually cook along with Dr. Rosemary E. Riley to make Tomato Bisque with the option to make it vegan or not (find recipe here).

Look out for another Culinary Medicine event coming soon, but in the meantime join the Culinary Medicine online community today and gain access to all kinds of resources such as a video on basic knife skills, a downloadable cookbook from the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, sharing/swapping recipes, and so much more.
Medical Board Investigator Fraud
Physicians should be aware of some recent reports of attempts at fraud of physicians offices by people posing as investigators of the State Medical Board of Ohio (SMBO).

During COVID-19, investigators are doing more work via phone contacts, which can lead to more opportunities for fraud.

Doctors have asked the Medical Board to institute a new rapid response process to verify legitimate investigative inquiries, but in the meantime, offices should be aware of the potential for fraud and that it might take a period of time to call the Medical Board to verify the authenticity of the request.

Any physicians with suggestions on this subject should feel free to contact the CMA's CEO, Bob Falcone, MD at [email protected]
