Necessity Pantry Ingathering

This Sunday

This Sunday is our monthly ingathering for the Necessity Pantry. The pantry provides personal care items for individuals and families in financial stress.

Needed items include shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, disposable razors, shaving cream, bath soap, lotion, deodorant, laundry detergent, toilet paper and feminine hygiene and incontinence products. Cash donations are also gratefully accepted.

The Necessity Pantry is a cooperative ministry supported by the Church of the Resurrection in Blue Springs, St. Anne’s in Lee’s Summit, Trinity and St. Michael’s in Independence, and St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Independence.

Men's Breakfast next Tuesday

Bring your appetite!

Please join fellow parishioners for the first monthly men's breakfast to be held next Tuesday, February 18, beginning at 7 am at the Royal Biscuit, 1426 U.S. Hwy 40, Blue Springs.

We're starting at 7:00 am in hopes some of the men who are working will be able to attend as well.

For long-time residents of Blue Springs, the Royal Biscuit is where Betty's was for many years. They offer a 20% discount on Tuesdays for senior citizens and military.

If you have any questions, call Gary Zumwalt 816-517-8941.

Congregational Vitality Assessment (CVA) Survey

Please take the on-line survey

The Diocese of West Missouri has launched a Congregational Vitality Assessment (CVA) tool to provide meaningful insights into the health and sustainability of all the diocesan churches. This comprehensive assessment explores 11 critical areas of church life:

Vision, Mission, and Discernment

Lay Engagement and Empowerment

Context Awareness and Inclusion

Change Readiness

Managing Differences and Conflict

Worship

Spiritual Life

Formation, Education, and Training

Outreach

Leadership and Organization

Stewardship

The CVA offers a nuanced approach to congregational assessment by scoring each area individually. This tool recognizes that every congregation has unique strengths and challenges. It’s not about creating a competitive ranking with other churches, but instead about understanding and supporting our own church.

All members of the Church of the Resurrection are requested to complete the survey on-line by clicking on this link. The survey takes 20-30 minutes to complete and is open until Feb 17.

After all surveys are collected, the Diocese will then schedule a meeting with the Vestry in March or April.
