Dear Church of the Saviour family and friends,
As we step into the heart of Advent and look toward Christmas, I keep coming back to the wonder of it all: God didn’t stay distant. He came near. The Son of God took on flesh, entered our world as a real baby, and grew up to give his life for the sins of the world. The manger already points us to the cross, and both tell the same story. God loves us enough to come for us.
That’s why I want to warmly invite you to join us for one of our Christmas Eve worship services, and to bring someone with you. During the Christmas season, people are often more open than usual to a simple invitation. A coworker, a neighbor, a friend who hasn’t been to church in years, a family member who’s been carrying more than they can say out loud. An invitation can be a quiet act of courage and kindness.
This Christmas Eve we’ll gather three times:
-
3:00 PM | Modern-style worship
-
5:00 PM | Modern-style worship
-
9:00 PM | Traditional Lessons & Carols Candlelight Service
And before the 9:00 p.m. service, we’ll open the church at 8:00 p.m. for hot chocolate and cookies. Come early, take a breath, enjoy some fellowship, and let the evening begin with warmth and welcome.
Whether you come in the afternoon or late at night, our aim is the same: to lift our eyes to Jesus Christ, the God-man, the newborn King. We’re not gathering around nostalgia or sentiment. We’re gathering around good news: the Light has come into the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
So come. Come worship this newborn King. And if you’re able, don’t come alone.
With hope and joy,
