Necessity Pantry

In-gathering tomorrow

Tomorrow is our regular monthly in-gathering for the Necessity Pantry operated from St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Independence.

The purpose of the Necessity Pantry is to fill a void in the government assistance program for personal care items such as toilet paper, deodorant, shampoo, bath soap, feminine hygiene products, Depends, toothpaste, toothbrushes, dish soap and laundry detergent. In addition to donations of goods, monetary contributions are also gratefully accepted.

In 2023, Resurrection parishioners have given almost $1,500 in cash for the pantry! Thank you to all who donate and to those who deliver!

CSL Christmas Tree

Take a tag from the tree

Resurrection has always supported the Community Services League (CSL) of Blue Springs. Now the CSL gift tree is up in the Narthex!

Please take a tag from the tree to purchase gifts worth approximately $25 for children, teens, and adults. Then place your unwrapped gifts under the tree on or before December 10.

We'll take them to CSL for distribution at their annual Christmas Store for families.

Thank you for your continued support. Your gift will brighten Christmas morning for a child or person who otherwise would receive no gift.

Construction Advances

Framing going up

Construction continues on the addition to the Narthex for the relocation of the stairs and installation of a handicap lift.

Framing for the first and second levels and roof support is essentially complete. Be aware the opening into the Narthex has now been created and is covered with plywood for your safety.

During construction we ask everyone to be especially mindful of their own safety and to exercise good judgment when workers and equipment are present.

Save your Best Choice® labels

Clip and bring to church

Please remember to clip and collect labels from products with the Best Choice®, Clearly by Best Choice®, and Best Choice® Superior Selections® logos and bring them to church for us to redeem them for $.03 per label!

There is a collection box in the Narthex. Best Choice® products are available at Price Chopper stores. Make sure you clip the UPC code with the words Best Choice®.

Thank you Meg Swant for coordinating this project.

Join us for Bible Study

No Bible Study next week

** Due to the Thanksgiving Holiday there will be no Bible Study next Wednesday, Nov. 22 only. **

Now led by Fr. Jonathan+, please join us every Wednesday for Bible Study in the downstairs classroom beginning at 1:00 pm.

We'll be reading and discussing the book The Bible Tells Me So by Peter Enns.

Trained as an evangelical Bible scholar, Peter Enns loved the Scriptures and shared his devotion, teaching at Westminster Theological Seminary. But the further he studied the Bible, the more he found himself confronted by questions that could neither be answered within the rigid framework of his religious instruction or accepted among the conservative evangelical community. The Bible Tells Me So chronicles Enns’s spiritual odyssey, how he came to see beyond restrictive doctrine and learned to embrace God’s Word as it is actually written.
