Because Lutherans have great big hearts. We love to have a good time, play games, and enjoy robust fellowship. We also love making sure that others can, too! Ladies Aid member Doris Jefferies presents Walnut Springs Health and Rehabilitation activity department with cookies and a bag of bingo prizes for their bingo parties. This year Ladies Aid has donated cookies and bingo prizes to five nursing and health care facilities in Seguin. We are better together.

BEING THE CHURCH

BE A PRAYER PARTNER

Thank you to our Prayer Partners who are daily lifting up our high school youth and sponsors who are in Puerto Rico this week. Prayers from everyone are welcome at anytime, of course!

Holy God, I pray that you would provide encouragement to the leaders, students, and communities of our youth mission trip. Help them remain faithful with the things you’ve entrusted to them. Let them set examples in speech, life, love and faith. Give them discernment to deal with any problems that may arise. Keep them safe in all that they set out to do and bring them home renewed and restored in wondrous ways to share all they learned. Amen.

PASTOR MARCUS OUT OF OFFICE

Pastor Marcus is a chaperone on the Emanuel’s youth mission trip in Puerto Rico and will be out of the office July 7-15. For pastoral emergencies please contact the church office at 830-708-5992 or Pastor John Van Deusen at 830-305-5658.

LIFE THROUGH WATER

CANCELLED

July 22nd’s “Life Through Water” VBE day at Emanuel’s is cancelled. So much is happening this month with families, sports, band, and just general summer travel that there was not enough interest to make the Saturday event happen.

A huge thank you to our awesome volunteers who were ready to carry the day and a very sincere thank you to our participants. We are looking forward to school year kick-off events in August, so make sure those are on your calendar!

July 12 at 7pm

3rd Floor Music Suite

You are invited to a fun evening of singing a few old rounds (Like Row, Row, Row Your Boat), moving on to easy hymns in which the melodies and rhythms are simple and logical. Think of it as a type of game, but with the musical senses. We’ll use a pitch pipe and perhaps some bells, but NO PIANO! If you wish, bring some healthful munchies to share at this summer fellowship. Guests welcome. Contact is Tom Engler.

ALL MINISTRY TEAM NIGHT

Monday, July 17 at 6:30pm

Women’s Ministry Room

All of Emanuel’s Ministry Teams gather on a single evening each month to collaborate, plan, and schedule upcoming events and ministry projects. Council Members act as team leaders/coordinators, but Ministry Teams are open to, and run by, everyone in the congregation. Please join us!

Thursday, July 20 at 11:30am

Fellowship Hall

We will celebrate our second anniversary with our annual Spaghetti Lunch featuring Pastor Marcus and Kristen’s famous recipe. Join us at 11:30am in the Fellowship Hall. Sign-up sheets for sides and such are in the narthex. Let Donna know you can come by Tuesday, July 18, 830-379-5046.

Sunday, July 23 at 9am

Family Life Center

Safety and Security are top priorities for our campus, especially as we consider how many visitors, church members, and ministry groups meet weekly. Having a plan in place that supports the constant and vital work of the Property Stewards and their care for the physical plant of our campus and gives us the avenues of communication, preparation, and action should we need it is also crucial. If you would be interested in helping formulate this safety and security plan please join the Task Force Chair Allan Bode in the Family Life Center on Sunday, July 23 at 9am.

We finally did it! Your generous and faithful donations made it possible to create a beautiful space for recreation, worship, and to share with our Seguin community. Thanks be to God!

All the hard work calls for a grand celebration. The Dirty River Jazz Band will join us for worship and Fellowship Hall festivities. Sign-up sheets for potluck sides are in the narthex and at the chapel door. Pulled pork, slider buns, rice, and coleslaw will be provided.
