Come and see

This Sunday we will hear of the story of Jesus calling his first followers immediately after his baptism. Like those first people called 2000 years ago, we too are invited not only into the teaching of Jesus, but into his very life.

In becoming his disciples, our lives become overshadowed by his. Our lives become a part of his life. This is reflected in everything we do, from how we worship God to how we treat others.

As we relearn the story of what it means to follow Jesus, rededicate yourself to discipleship and forming your life into the shape of Christ. Come and see.

10:00 am to Noon

A celebration of life for Wanda Meisel will be held today, Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 10:00 am to Noon at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main Street, Blue Springs.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Missouri Association of State Troopers Emergency Relief Society.

This Sunday

This Sunday is our monthly ingathering for the Necessity Pantry. The pantry provides personal care items for individuals and families in financial stress.

Needed items include shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, disposable razors, shaving cream, bath soap, lotion, deodorant, laundry detergent, toilet paper and feminine hygiene and incontinence products. Cash donations are also gratefully accepted.

The Necessity Pantry is a cooperative ministry supported by the Church of the Resurrection in Blue Springs, St. Anne’s in Lee’s Summit, Trinity and St. Michael’s in Independence, and St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Independence.

Bring your appetite and join us on Tuesday, January 20, for our monthly Men's Breakfast at the Royal Biscuit on 40 Hwy in Blue Springs, beginning at 7:00 am.

The Royal Biscuit offers a 20% discount on Tuesdays to seniors and military.

Seeking Candidates

Anyone interested in serving on the Vestry should contact a member of the Vestry or Fr. Jonathan. The Vestry is the board of directors for the parish and is comprised of lay people who represent the parish as a whole in decision making, planning and communication.

A CANDIDATE FOR VESTRY MUST: 

• Be an adult, confirmed communicant in good standing. 

• Be at least 16 years of age.

• Be faithful in worship.

• Be faithful in working, praying, and giving for the spread of the Kingdom of God. 

• Be known to the treasurer (contributing financially each year.)

• Been confirmed by the Bishop or received into the church after having been confirmed in another denomination.
