Join the New Hampshire Conference Team
The New Hampshire Conference seeks candidates to serve as our Communications, Technology, and Events (C, T, & E) Specialist . The C, T, & E Specialist will be the editor of the Conference Weekly News and website, will oversee the Conference’s digital infrastructure and will be the staff member responsible for coordinating logistics for all-Conference events (such as our Annual Meeting and Prepared to Serve education event). A position description is available upon request. 

The C, T, & E Specialist is a 30 hour a week position. A starting salary of $46,800 plus benefits (health, dental, pension, etc.) is being offered.

Retirement Celebration for the Rev. Richard Slater
The New Hampshire Conference of the United Church of Christ invites your presence at the retirement celebration for Associate Conference Minister, the Rev. Richard Slater, as we bless him as he moves into retirement.

Prepared to Serve Planning for a February 2023 Event at Pembroke Academy
The pandemic required adaptability and resiliency on the part of everyone as the Prepared to Serve (PTS) Planning Committee considered options to hold this yearly event. In the first year we did not have the technical or staffing infrastructure to provide a program, but in 2022 we were able to provide an innovative and successful on-line variation of PTS. Despite the success of that on-line program, for the coming year it is our goal to return to an in-person gathering on February 25, 2023 with the theme Connecting & Reconnecting.

At this time, we are actively developing a slate of workshops that will provide training and sharing on the topics most commonly asked for in this time of emergence. These include, but are not limited to Developing and Implementing Hybrid Worship Options, Effective Use of Church Building Spaces, Meaningful Community Outreach, Shifts in Pastorate Models, etc.

We are also seeking input from the wider Conference about additional topics that are desired/needed in this unique time as well as proposals from Presenters of Workshops. (You will be notified by early December, if your proposal is accepted.)

Additionally, we are looking for volunteers to join us on the Prepared to Serve Planning Committee as we develop the program and look forward to Connecting & Reconnecting once again.

Come Learn About What Church World Service is Seeing and
Doing in Ukraine
Church World Service (CWS) is coming to NH on Nov. 13th at 2:00 PM to share about what they are doing and what they are seeing in Ukraine. Merrimack Association is hosting this event at the Sanbornton Congregational Church UCC. CWS will be sharing about how they are helping in Ukraine and what they are seeing there as they work. All are welcome. This gathering will recognize the beginning of 251 years of mission and ministry at the Sanbornton Congregational Church – share cake and beverages after the meeting.

Please Remember in Your Prayers...
We rejoice in the birth of Henry Theodore Wessells and celebrate with proud parents Erin and Josh Wessells. Erin is pastor at the First Congregational Church of Croydon and an MID in the Grafton Orange Sullivan Association.

On this election day, let us pray for our nation and those whose votes will help shape the values by which we conduct our business and protect the rights of one another. May justice, peace, and generous hospitality mark the future of our nation.

Across Our Conference
The Rev. Pamela Spain has accepted the call of the Lancaster Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, to become its Designated Term Minister. Rev. Spain began her ministry at Lancaster on November 7, 2022. 

The Federated Church of Marlborough invite you to the installation of their pastor, the Rev. Dr. Dana Mann, at 3:00 pm, Sunday, November 13. All are welcome.

The Rev. Dr. S. C. Campbell Lovett has accepted the invitation of the Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, of Laconia to become its Interim Minister. Rev. Lovett began his ministry at Laconia on October 24, 2022.

Mr. Jonah Mayer has accepted the invitation of the Bartlett Union Congregational Church, UCC, to be their Settled Minister. Mr. Mayer expects to begin his ministry at Bartlett later in November, 2022.

The Rev. Jane Wilson has announced her resignation from the position of Pastor and Teacher of the United Congregational Church of Orford, UCC, and her retirement from active ministry. Rev. Wilson will conclude her ministry at Orford at the end of December, 2022.

Sunday Schedule: November 13, 2022

In the morning, Rev. Gordon Rankin will be preaching at the Madbury United Church of Christ, where Rev. Paul Cullity serves as Pastor. 

In the afternoon, Rev. Rankin will represent the NH Conference and preach at the Installation of the Rev. Dana Mann as Pastor and Teacher at Federated Church of Marlborough.

In the morning, Rev. Richard Slater will be preaching at North Church UCC in Portsmouth, where the Rev. Jennifer Mazur serves as Sr. Pastor.
