Stewardship Campaign nearing end

Please pledge to support our mission and parish

We have so many gifts to share at Resurrection - gifts of time, talent, and treasure that we freely give to support our ministry and to do the work of mission in our community.

We do this not out of a sense that we will get back what we give, but because we are motivated by love. When Paul wrote to his friends in the Church at Ephesus, he reminded them that the very spark of love that founded their community of faith was one of giving. God showed God’s love for humanity by giving us a part of the Divine.

Certainly this is what we do when we place our gifts on the altar – we bring our whole selves and share the best part of our love and labor. As you consider what you will share with the Church this year, please give thanks for the many people who have walked with you in love, supported you in your faith, and shared their gifts with you.

Our Pledge Ingathering will be Sunday, December 1, the first Sunday of Advent. Please return your pledge card by then or you may pledge on-line by clicking here.

Thank you to everyone who has already pledged. Walk in Love!

Blessing of new Advent vestments, altar and pulpit frontals tomorrow

At 10:30 service

Please be with us at the 10:30 am service tomorrow, Sunday, November 24, for the blessing of our new Advent vestments and frontals.

These beautiful gifts are given in memory of Sue Johnson by Father Doug +, who will bless and sanctify these holy vestments.

O Lord, we give you thanks for the life of thy departed servant Sue Johnson who is now in your loving care. Please grant her eternal rest. Amen

Thanksgiving sides needed - tomorrow is last Sunday to contribute

Collection basket in narthex

Community Services League is collecting side ingredients to distribute to those in need for Thanksgiving. Please consider bringing ingredients for popular side dishes and placing them in the basket in the narthex tomorrow.

Suggested items include gravy, corn, jiffy mix, green beans, stuffing boxes, cans of pumpkin, canned milk, etc. Thank you for your generosity!

CSL Gift Tree is up

Make Christmas brighter

Community Services League's Christmas Store is a long-time tradition to provide Christmas assistance to our neighbors in need. This wonderful event allows parents to find a toy or gift for their children to open on Christmas day who otherwise would not receive a gift.

Resurrection supports this outreach by asking parish members to take a tag from our gift tree and purchase the item on the tag. Then place the unwrapped gift under the tree on or before December 8. We'll take it from there and deliver the donations to CSL to brighten the Christmas morning of many families!

If you are interested in helping sort gifts or escort recipients through the Christmas Store on Wednesday, December 11, please call Amanda at CSL at (816) 690-8213.
