Our annual stewardship campaign will get underway soon with the theme Rooted in Abundance. It's a reminder to us that we are inspired to give because so much has been given to us. Giving is not transactional. We do not give in proportion to how we feel we have benefited or suffered, rather we give because of the love we have experienced from God and from whom all blessings flow.

All things come of thee, O Lord; and of thine own have we given thee.

Please bring your pet (all God's creatures welcomed!) whether it be furry, feathery, scaly or slimy for a blessing on Saturday morning, October 14, at 10:00 in the parking lot.

The event is held in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron Saint of animals. Francis considered all nature as the mirror of God and as so many steps to God. He called all creatures his “brothers” and “sisters,” and, in the most endearing stories about him, preached to the birds and persuaded a wolf to stop attacking the people of the town of Gubbio and their livestock if the townspeople agreed to feed the wolf.

Join us on Saturday, October 14, at 5:30 pm for the annual Biggs' Bonfire and Cookout at the home of John and Joyce Biggs; 30404 Pink Hill Rd in Grain Valley

We'll be serving hot dogs and s'mores. Hot drinks will also be available! 

Please bring your own lawn chairs for seating, blankets to keep warm, and especially flashlights to see when it gets dark!

Sign-up in the Narthex to be part of our next New Theatre outing to see the matinee performance of Catch Me If You Can on Saturday, December 2. Seating is at 11:45 am, dining at 12:15 pm, with curtain up at 1:15 pm.

Tickets are $36 each and include dinner and gratuity. Drinks and dessert extra.

Elaine Marshall is looking for volunteers to help her in coordinating the production of a new pictorial directory with an outside vendor. Picture taking is scheduled for November 10 and 11.

If you are not able to have your portrait taken on these days, please contact Elaine Marshall or Lisa Twitty to make arrangements for you to go to another local church to have your picture taken there.  St. John LaLande Catholic Church is doing a directory about the same time as Resurrection, so we will try to use that location. Please don't miss out on being in our directory. We need everyone in it!
