Please welcome Father Doug Johnson as our guest celebrant while Father Jonathan is on vacation!

During the 10:30 am service

During the 10:30 am service tomorrow, Father Doug will bless students and educators as well as backpacks and other instruments of teaching and learning.

Students, teachers, and school staff should bring their backpacks, briefcases, or work bags to be prayed over for safety, wisdom, and a successful new school year.

We pray together for protection, peace of mind, and academic growth. Touching or wearing the blessed bag will serve as a physical reminder of God’s presence and community support.

Your support helps those less fortunate

This Sunday is our monthly ingathering for the Necessity Pantry. The pantry provides personal care items for individuals and families in financial stress. Regularly needed items include shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, disposable razors, shaving cream, bath soap, lotion, deodorant, laundry detergent, toilet paper and feminine hygiene and incontinence products. Cash donations are also gratefully accepted.

The Necessity Pantry is a cooperative ministry supported by the Church of the Resurrection in Blue Springs, St. Anne’s in Lee’s Summit, Trinity and St. Michael’s in Independence, and St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Independence.

At 7:00 am

Bring your appetite and join us next Tuesday, August 18, for our monthly Men's Breakfast at the Royal Biscuit on 40 Hwy in Blue Springs, beginning at 7:00 am.

The Royal Biscuit offers a 20% discount on Tuesdays to seniors and military.

Plus $185 in cash contributions

The school supplies collected during July and August were delivered to the Blue Springs Community Services League (CSL) this week. Resurrection members also contributed $185 in cash to support the drive.

CSL extends their heartfelt gratitude for your generosity and support!

What events would you like to see or do?

Do you have ideas for social activities outside of the church (like the New Theatre & Restaurant and sporting events) ?

If you would like to be a part of the planning group, or just have an idea; please contact Joe Owen, Diane Gerlach, or John Biggs.

The Social Planning Group is part of the Parish Life committee and would love your input and ideas!

Don't you like air conditioning in August?

The air conditioning unit that cools the Sanctuary was recently replaced at a cost of $6,784.

Donations to offset this expense, which was not budgeted, are much appreciated!
