The Ohio District LCMS Board of Directors has closed the District’s Concordia University-Ann Arbor debt reduction emphasis. A letter was mailed to all Ohio District congregations.

Judith Evelyn Bergen, the wife of Rev. Ronald Bergen, Emeritus pastor and former District President of the Ohio District, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022. CLICK HERE for her obituary.  All are invited to attend a luncheon following the 11:00 AM service on Saturday, December 17th. Please keep the Bergen family in your prayers.

The Rev. Roger Vernick, EM, was recently called to his eternal rest. At this time, no further information is available for this newsletter. We pray for God's peace and comfort for the Vernick family.

Each month St. Mark Lutheran Church in Chesterland, Ohio serves lunch for the community in Cleveland at Trinity-Cleveland and hosts a Christmas party each year. This year the event will take place on Saturday, December 17 2022 with set up at 3:15 PM; serving at 4:00 PM in the Social Hall next to the church (2031 W 30th St, Cleveland, Ohio). This year the youth are going to participate by helping serve food and socializing with the guests.  For safety reasons, it is required that the youth must be accompanied by an adult (adults also encouraged to attend and help!)

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Westlake, Ohio is seeking a candidate with strong organizational and interpersonal skills to fill the position of church administrative assistant. This is a part-time position (29 hours per week) and the primary duties include serving as office receptionist, providing secretarial services, administering the church management software, and purchasing necessary supplies for church ministries, among other duties. View the job description at this link.
