The Rev. Carl E. Zahrte, EM was called to his eternal rest on Sunday, November 6, 2022. Rev. Zahrte had served as an ordained Lutheran pastor for over sixty years, serving at churches in Lincoln, NE, Southgate, MI, Marco Island, FL and Parma, OH. You can read his obituary HERE. Please lift up the Zahrte family in your prayers.

2023 REQUESTS FOR SEMINARY GRADUATES (ORDAINED) OR VICARS

Congregations that are considering applying for a seminary graduate or a Vicar should contact the President’s Office for additional information. The deadline for all applications is February 24, 2023. Please add this to your congregational voter’s meetings for consideration in the coming months, so that you can complete the necessary documents in a timely manner. If your congregation is considering an Associate Pastor and would like to request interviews at either seminary, your requests need to be made by December 1, 2022.

In the October 2022 issue of StewardCAST, LCMS Stewardship Ministry reminds pastors to walk the narrow way of faithful preaching of the Gospel, and thereby of stewardship. We cannot assume that faithful stewardship will come about in the congregation without intentional effort.
