Bible reading and praying daily don’t gain us any brownie points with God, but both are important faith practices. That we pray is important, but how we pray is even more so. If we only pray for what we need and want, we are shaping ourselves to be narrow and selfish. If we pray for the things of God’s kingdom, we will be drawn into the realities of that kingdom. Bible reading can help lead in that direction. How we practice our faith helps us grow.
