Because Lutherans love the newness of spring. It is joyous to hear our Day School friends frolicking on the playground and buzzing about the halls this time of year. May we all find time to experience the wonders of a new season. "Dear God, as the flowers bloom and the trees grow, help us to grow in kindness, wisdom, and love. Guide our hands and hearts as we learn and play. Amen." We are better together.

Third Sunday in Lent, Year C
The warnings are plentiful and blunt on the third Sunday in Lent. Cut it out or get cut down! The warnings are accompanied by God’s invitation to attentiveness: “Incline your ear, and come to me; listen, so that you may live.” The landowner’s ultimatum is forestalled by the gardener’s readiness to till the ground one more year. That is good news for all of us. Thanks be to God!
| | Ash Wednesday reminds us that we enter this season together “with the whole church.” Though many common Lenten practices rightly invite us to individual acts of “repentance, prayer and fasting, sacrificial giving and works of love,” Lent is also a time for the deepening of community. Using readings from Mark’s gospel, this midweek series invites the congregation to reflect on what it means to be in community with one another, with the world, with creation, and with God. Our evening will begin with a meal. There is a place for you at the table. | | | | |
