EUCHARISITC MINISTRY TRAINING

If you have a desire to visit our homebound members, bring them updates from the church and news of our ministries, and celebrate Holy Communion with them, then this is the ministry for you. Training will include an overview of our ministry, the liturgy we use, how to engage in conversations and prayer, and how to best share information with our office. We will bless and commission our Eucharistic Ministers on Sunday, October 2 at the very beginning of the worship service. Please contact Pastor Marcus or Pastor John if you have any questions.

CALLING ALL YOUTH MUSICIANS!
Tom and Pastor Marcus are putting together a band, an orchestra, to lead worship on All Saints Sunday, November 6, and during one of our Christmas Eve services. If you play an instrument and would be willing to join us, please reach out to them! Arrangements are in the works and we are excited.

TLU HOT DOGS DAY OF SERVICE

As part of the university’s mission and ongoing commitment to service, campus organizations once again partnered with local nonprofits for TLU's annual fall day of service, Hot Dogs, on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Everyone who is part of the TLU community was encouraged to complete service projects and engage with the community.
This year Emanuel's Garden of Eatin' was tended to by the TLU Bulldog Baseball team ... and Kate! Huge thanks to Wayne S. for coordinating the extra hands.

For Whom: For all! This will be an afternoon for all of God's critters, the scaly ones, furry ones, feathery ones, hooved ones, or webbed footed ones, to be blessed and their families prayed for on the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi.

6th – 12th graders will meet Wednesday, September 21 from 6-7:30pm in the Family Life Center with friends from Spirit of Joy Lutheran and St. Andrew’s Episcopal churches. Please contact Vicar Jordana or Vicar Connor with your questions about this dynamic group.
Students and Parents should also have Sunday, October 9th on their calendars. There will be an Ignite Youth interest meeting before church at 9am in the Family Life Center. At this meeting we will go over all youth activity opportunities and dates. Exciting things on the horizon!
Tamales are right around the corner! In October our youth will be selling Delicious Tamales again to help fund their activities in the coming year. These adventures include beach camp, summer camp, day camp, VBS, mission trips, Ignite Youth Group, and many more. Tamale pick up day is Monday, November 7th. Tamales will be $12 per dozen so make sure to catch a youth group member, or a Vicar, to get your order placed! Additional information will be coming your way very soon.

IT'S FESTIVAL TIME!

This September we are headed to Fredericksburg for the Cross Trails Fall Festival at the Marktplatz, on Saturday, September 17 from 9am to 3pm. The Education Team invites all of our youth, families, and just happy go-doers to join us for a great afternoon out.
The festival is free to attend and we will meet y’all there! There will be food trucks, music, vendor booths, craft booths, lots of carnival games, as well as a 5K and cornhole tournament! Contact Vicar Connor or Vicar Jordana for more information!

JOURNEYING THROUGH GRIEF

Discussion will focus on how grief affects us, how we can help ourselves as we grieve, and how journaling can be an effective tool to get through the holidays and special events. Journeying Through Grief meets from 3-5pm in the Family Life Center.
Emanuel's Bereavement Care Director Donna Simmons will facilitate this single session program.

THE HERITAGE CLASS: Augsburg Fortress Quarterly Adult Bible Study led by various class members meets on Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. in room 304. The summer study is Partners in a New Creation: Isaiah, John, Revelation.
THE JOY CLASS: Bible stories and songs for adults with intellectual disabilities. Gathers at 9:15 on the First Sunday of the month in the Women's Ministry Room.

CHILDREN & YOUTH EDUCATION
CHILDREN'S SUNDAY SCHOOL (1st Floor Green Room near elevator): Preschool to 5th graders are invited to join the Education Team for a brand new, rotation style Sunday morning education program starting at 9:15am. We will start together for singing, Bible story, and then head off to our group projects.

CONFIRMATION CLASS meets at Emanuel's on Sunday, September 18 at 1pm. Instruction for the year will take place monthly at both Emanuel’s and Spirit of Joy with a fall retreat at Camp Chrysalis. Please contact Pastor Marcus if you have an entering 6th grader ready to begin this rewarding journey of faith and have not received our schedule.
SWTS MIDDLE SCHOOL GATHERING is set for November 11-13th at Lutheran Camp Chrysalis in Kerrville. This gathering is opened to all 6th to 8th graders and will be centered around the theme, "The Reformation Continues." If you have a youth interested in attending, please reach out to Vicar Connor or Pastor Marcus to get on the list. More information and details will be coming soon!
