Because Lutherans love a reason for sausage. It was an honor to have so many first responders with us in worship and at lunch on Reformation Sunday! A very special thank you to Deb and Susan and the Congregational Care Team for the exquisite decorations and leadership. To everyone who brought food, thank you! And to our pitmaster supreme, Randal, the sausage was wonderful! Live music rounded out the day nicely. We are better together.

During worship we will remember and celebrate those who have died this year and those who were baptized. As each loved one's name is read, families will be invited to come to the front of the church for a special time of prayer and the gift of flowers. A “Remembrance Table” will be at the front steps of the altar in the Sanctuary. Everyone is invited to bring a framed, standing photo of loved ones they would like to honor this day, even if they passed before this year or were not affiliated with Emanuel’s. | |

LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF INGATHERING | |
The annual LWR Ingathering was blessed with a beautiful day as our crew, pictured above, loaded up 67 boxes in a trailer headed to meet others in Marion. Our Quick Quilters report a grand total of 310 quilts, 193 school kits, and 98 personal care kits this year. Their diligent work and your continued support will comfort hundreds of people in need across the globe. You can read more about this international humanitarian program here. | |

Often in church we hear lamentation that there aren’t more kids, that Sunday School is “not what it used to be.” Yet where in our churches are children the center of the community instead of relegated to the edges?
“I hear people say a lot that youth are the future of the church,” said Pastor Megan Elliott of Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church in Seguin, TX. “I think they are the church right now. They’re not future church people, they’re part of the body of Christ right now. I don’t think it’s an accident that the Gospels have a story of Jesus being 12 years old and in the temple teaching the religious leaders.”

HEALING HOLIDAYS: Making Your Grief Count

Grief during the Holidays is always challenging, and even more so in the past years. Learning to navigate a changing world combined with the sorrow of our loss causes us to grieve on many levels. This workshop will help families embrace their grief, while strengthening characteristics of resilience. Our presenter is Darwin Huartson, M. Div., BCC with Porter Loring Mortuaries. SAN ANTONIO MISSIONS BUS TOUR
Thursday, December 7
We will visit three of the historic Missions and have a lunch break at Golden Corral. We will leave the church parking lot by 8:30am and return by 3:30pm. Sign up by November 16 in the Narthex on Sundays, in the office during the week, and at Senior Social Club luncheons. Each person will pay for their own expenses for the chartered bus and lunch. In preparation for our Sunday, December 10, 2023 Annual Meeting two learning and discussion session are scheduled for Sunday, November 5 and November 19, at 9:15am in the Family Life Center. Discussion topics include, but are not limited to, the proposed 2024 budget, nominations for church council, and ministry programs for 2024. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion. | |

Thanksgiving Worship: A Service of Gratitude is Tuesday, November 21 at 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary. We will come together as a community for a simple worship service to show gratitude and pray for blessings over the holidays.

We are excited to host The Seguin Police Department 2023 Blue Santa giftwrapping in our Fellowship Hall every Tuesday and Thursday between December 5 – December 21 from 4-8pm. Toys and gifts are collected throughout the city in November/December and will be wrapped by volunteers before being distributed to children in need by Christmas morning. Stay tuned for updates from Emanuel’s Outreach and Service Team! There will be numerous opportunities to serve.

CHILDREN'S CHURCH for our PK to 5th grade learners meets each Sunday. During worship the Vicars will lead students to designated classrooms, just down the hall from the sanctuary, as we begin the "Gathering Hymn" and then guide them back as we "Share the Peace." We hope you will make this a part of your family's weekly worship rhythm! | |
THE COMPASS COOPERATIVE is a weekly gathering on Sundays at 6pm for 6th to 12th grade students, hosted by our four church partners - Emanuel's, St. Andrew's, Spirit of Joy, and Friedens Church- and held on Spirit of Joy's campus. We will eat together, worship together, play games, and just enjoy each other's company. All are truly welcome so please, come join us! | |

THE HERITAGE CLASS meets at 9:15 am Sunday mornings on the 3rd floor in room 307. Participants explore the deeper meaning found in the Bible and seek to unlock its wisdom through fellowship and robust group discussion. The aim is to make the Bible relevant and applicable to daily life.
THE JOY CLASS: Bible stories and songs for adults with intellectual disabilities. Gathers at 9:15 on the First Sunday of the month in the Women's Ministry Room.

We are looking for volunteers to join the Office Angels. This dedicated crew answers phones, monitors the door, and assists with small tasks. Our busy season is fast approaching.
