Because Lutherans enjoy field trips: the Senior Social Club and friends had a great time exploring historic churches south of Seguin last weekend. The group is pictured here at the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Panna Maria. Special thanks to Sharon and Joe K. for being such great hosts and caravan leaders! Stay tuned for the next adventure. We are better together.

HONORING FRONTLINE
HEALTHCARE WORKERS
During worship on May 22 the Congregational Care Team took time to celebrate frontline healthcare workers with baskets full of homemade cookies, snacks, and treats! (Big THANK YOU to our cookie bakers!) Cards and decorations from church and day school folks adorned each basket. (Huge THANK YOU to our decorators and assemblers!)
We appreciate each of the individuals and healthcare offices so, so much. Please join us in saying thank you and sharing this prayer with us:
Let us pray. Almighty God, whose beloved Son Jesus Christ went about doing the work of healing all manner of illness and disease, we pray that Christ’s gracious and vital work among us, especially through Dr. Bree Vickers and the staff of Krohn, Vickers, and Minton Optometrists, Mrs. Lindsay May and the staff of Seguin Smiles dental office, Mrs. Cindy Pique and the staff of Seguin Orthopedics, Dr. Tommy Raetzsch and his staff, Mr. Danny Gaitan and the staff of Windsor Nursing and Rehab Center, Ms. Marivel Medina and the staff of Orthodontic Specialists, Dr. Doug Parker and the staff of Parker’s City Pharmacy, Mrs. Donna Dodgen and the staff of PAM Health Specialty Hospital, and Dr. Charles Nolan and Chaplain Tom Jones and the staff of Guadalupe Regional Medical Center, feel the richness of your blessing and the support of your Spirit. Grant to these physicians, administrators, chaplains, dietitians, marketing directors, social workers, therapists, lab technicians, nurses, and all health care professionals, wisdom and skill, sympathy and patience, health and wholeness, love and care; keep them, their staff, their families, and their patients, residents, and clients safe and preserve them from all that would seek to make them ill. Cheer, heal and sanctify the sick, and send down your blessing on all who care for them healer, Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

Paraphrasing Martin Luther: It is good to remember that no one, neither man nor beast, earns his daily bread any more than he earns his salvation.
God made the earth and all that is in it, including ourselves. We use what has been provided, but we do not earn what we have.
