Because Lutherans are in community wherever we gather. Leaving our building temporarily is an occasion that is filled with a mixture of emotions. There are varying degrees of grief and nostalgia about the past, as well as anxiety and hopefulness about the future. Presently, we gather as God's people who continue on in other ways of gathering together as a reminder that God's mission continues and extends beyond our church walls. We are in this together. We are better together. We may be apart, but we are not alone.

A Service of Leave Taking

Holy Week/Easter: COVID-19 has challenged us as a community of faith in many ways. As we have now entered Holy Week, we are faced, yet again, with the reality that we cannot be together for these times of worship. In conversation with staff, worship leaders, and Executive Council, it is our decision to hold off on our Palm Sunday through Easter Sunday worship services until we can join back together. Meaning, once we have been given the all clear to join back together again as a worshipping community without restriction we will pick up on the first Sunday back with Palm Sunday, celebrate Holy Week, and conclude this celebration, as we always have, with Easter. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to visit with Pastor Marcus, Pastor Kelsie, or Tom.

Camp Emanuel's

The following letter was shared with area essential employers who have asked about childcare. Please pray for our teachers and staff who are working diligently to provide a needed service to our community.

Camp Emanuel’s 2020 School Year Monday, April 6, 2020 – Schools Re-open   (830) 372-0332        dayschool@emanuels-seguin.org   Greetings from Emanuel’s Lutheran Day School.   In light of the recent changes to the continued day-to-day schedules of many schools and preschools, we want to offer childcare to your school age children for grades Kindergarten through 6th grade. We know this time away from usual schedules has hindered many who have children in elementary school and we want to help as much as we can. Our school is an essential partner to our community, providing top-notch education and programming for the children of community leaders who can’t stay home because of their jobs. If we can be a better partner, know that we are willing to be flexible and meet the needs of children where we can during this time of crisis.     Below is a registration form for Camp Emanuel’s which will be opening on Monday, April 6, 2020. Things you may want to know about Camp Emanuel’s   Camp Emanuel’s will be held on the first floor of the church building and will have its own teachers separate from the Day School Staff. Drop off and pick up will be at the side entrance to the church building on West Mountain street where the brown canopy is located. Students temperatures will be taken each day before they enter the building and must be below 100.4 per the Covid-19 requirements. Entry to the building will be staff and students only per the Covid-19 requirements. Camp Emanuel’s will be accepting students in Grades Kindergarten through 6th grade. Our operating hours are 7am - 6pm Monday through Friday. Please have your child bring their Chromebook or laptop with login information so that we can assist them with their classwork. No food will be provided so please bring lunch and two snacks. Students can also bring breakfast with them if they arrive before 8:30.   Again, thank you for all you do and if we can be a better essential partner as we navigate these waters, please let us know what we can do.   Please feel free to call or email with any questions. April 2, 2020 Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update   The health of our church family, and of the public, is important to the Council and Staff of Emanuel' Lutheran Church. As we monitor the situation, the following provisions are now in place: ​ Worship services on campus are suspended indefinitely.  When City/State sanctions are lifted we will resume gatherings. This includes all campus activities. Office Staff is working from home and participating in remote online staff meetings.  Nursing home visits are suspended.  Hospital visitation is limited. Pastors may not have access to patients. Council Members will contact Emanuel's members as information needs to be shared.  ​ Things we CAN do at this time: Worship with us online!  Follow us on Facebook and join our Daily Devotional page.  Let the office know if you or a loved one is in the hospital. We are checking emails and voicemails frequently. Practice good Stewardship. Continue your financial support for the ongoing ministries of ELC by giving online or mailing contributions to the church.  Keep in touch with your Pew Pals. Need a virtual Pew Pal? Call the church office and we will pair you up. Pray daily with us at every day 12:05.

Summer Camp at Camp Chrysalis and Ebert Ranch Camp June 28-July 3 (6-8th grade at Camp Chrysalis, and 8th to High School LYLE 1 at Ebert Ranch Camp) June 28-July 3 (High School LYLE 2 at Ebert Ranch Camp) July 12-17 (6-8th grade Confirmation program at Camp Chrysalis) July 12-15 (1-3rd grade Young's A at Camp Chrysalis) Other weeks and programs available at Cross Trails Ministry. Day Camp & VBS Week July 6-10 Day Camp from 8:30-3:30 for youth who have completed kindergarten through 5th grade. July 6-10 VBS from 8:30-12:30 for 3-5 year olds. Registration opens in April. VOLUNTEERS will be needed.
