Because Lutherans love our teachers, administrators, and school staff. It was a joy to bless them and their work during worship on Sunday. HUGE THANK YOU to Emanuel's cookie bakers and Congregational Care Team (pictured here) for providing the gift baskets taken to area schools. Got photos of folk enjoying these treats? Send them Sherry's way, please. We are better together. | |
Please join us Sundays at 10:30 a.m.
Masks are encouraged but no longer required on the church campus.

FREED TO ASK DIFFICULT QUESTIONS
(Part 3)
| |
|
There are liturgical rites for asking questions in ELCA: The Service of Baptism and the Affirmation of Faith (Confirmation). The questions posed in these moments of worship may appear rhetorical, i.e., Do you renounce the devil…? But one hopes that, prior to baptismal and confirmation services, candidates or their sponsors have been allowed to ask questions, learn, challenge, and then come to a conclusion or two, not least about what a baptismal identity means. When we ask questions, we open ourselves not to the devil but to the possibility of God expanding our understanding and bringing about something new in ourselves and in the life of the church.
