LAST WEEK'S VOTE

Following service this past Sunday, a vote was held for the congregation.

THE MOTION

Saint Andrew’s United Church has worked towards and committed to this official designation in a Public, Intentional, and Explicit way. Recognizing the importance of such a designation to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, and to our values and Mission as a community of faith, Saint Andrew’s United Church is prepared to take this step of becoming an officially designated Affirming Ministry. All are welcomed, all are loved.

We move that Saint Andrew’s United Church be recognized as an officially designated Affirming Ministry.

In a flurry of hands, over 120 of those present agreed to the motion - a unanimous vote! A huge thanks to all involved, who continue to make St. Andrew's welcoming to all.

NOVEMBER BOOK STUDY

This month's book study starts this Tuesday 7 Nov from 6:30 - 8:00pm at the Barat Spirituality Centre.

Join Rev. Susan Chisholm and Joanna Bull as they explore the call to Active Hope, and the tools needed to enact it.

BRUNSWICK STREET MISSION

The rising cost of groceries and essentials has increased the amount of food given out from the various food banks and other places serving people in need. Therefore, Brunswick Street mission is experiencing a decrease in the amount of food delivered from Feed Nova Scotia each week.

As a result, their shelves are empty, and clients are leaving with fewer groceries.

The list below would meet their need.

Donation baskets will be by the entry door or near the coffee table at the back of the church sanctuary. Another basket can be found upstairs near the office.

In 2023 a small group of us helped to welcome Wesam’s parents and sisters: Huda and Tuqa

Wesam’s brother and family are next.  Much work has been done already, and a group of us are meeting to discuss how to support and encourage the family.  Please email Helen Ferguson if you are interested.
