An Announcement from the Office

SUNDAY SERVICE

We spend so much of each day managing our attention, whether we realize it or not. Advertisements, work commitments, family obligations, community groups - a never-ending stream of calls.

Yet when God calls to us, how do we respond?

For epiphany three this week, we examine the stories of Jonah and the first disciples. How does the response of these faithful speak to our lives?

Join us during worship in the holy act of communion. All are welcome at this table.

A MID-WEEK RETREAT

Just 20 minutes of mid-week peace. Might make the world of difference.

At Saint Andrew’s we are expanding our worship offering by adding a weekly contemplative service. Starting in January, Susan and Kevin will lead a sabbath service of prayer and simplicity.

This service follows a structure from the Iona and Taizé communities. The Iona community, located on an island off the coast of Scotland, and the Taizé community in France are internationally known for their worship and prayer services that draw from the ancient traditions of the Christian faith. The Taizé community is also known for their songs of prayer— easy melodies that allow the heart and mind to meditate on the words through the medium of music.

All are welcome every Wednesday, starting January 24th.

A WEEK OF PRAYER

Each year, the World Council of Churches calls upon Christians around the globe to join in prayer for our unity. We are all disciples of Christ, one under his teachings.

You are invited to attend any of this week's special services around Halifax, or offer a prayer on your own, as we work to follow Christ's example.
