Who's Next on The Stage?

Last Week at St. Andrew's

A hymn we will sing this Sunday goes like this:

As we gather at your table,

as we listen to your word,

help us know, O God, your presence;

let our hearts and minds be stirred.

Nourish us with sacred story

till we claim it as our own;

teach us through this holy banquet

how to make Love’s power known.

And then the second verse starts with:

Turn our worship into witness

in the sacrament of life

The sacrament of life... now that’s interesting.

This Sunday, Susan reflects on the those words in theological resonance with the eucharist, which we’ll all then share, as we eat from the bread of life and drink from the cup of salvation.  The Choir has a beautiful anthem you’ll want to hear.

You are so welcome at this table. See you Sunday.

Following Service...

Welcoming you... to welcoming others at Coffee Hour.

Being welcoming to everyone at St Andrew's is what it's all about. The coffee's always on as people come through the door, to meet friends old and new, and be a part of what we're doing here.

To keep the coffee flowing, we need a few more volunteers to bring the Sunday morning Coffee Hour experience. We make really good coffee here, and we want to teach you how to do it too. This Sunday, 12 November, following the service, in the kitchen, Janet Skiba, our Coffee Hour coordinator, will show us how it's done. All we need to complete this picture is you.

If the Coffee Hour ministry seems like a good fit for you, why not join us, and see how it all happens.

If you have questions, contact Janet at [email protected] or call (902) 499-0327.

It's Week Two of the UCW Soup Challenge! Have you been enjoying some warm meals this chilly November?

Don't forget to set a little something aside each time you enjoy soup (or your favourite fall meal) this month! Funds collected at the end of the month go directly to the "School Breakfast Program" at Joseph Howe Elementary School. Over $1900 was raised last year!

Want to share your soup pictures with other Soup Challenge participants? Send them to [email protected] and it might be featured in our next newsletter!

The rising cost of groceries and essentials has increased the amount of food given out from the various food banks and other places serving people in need. Therefore, Brunswick Street Mission is experiencing a decrease in the amount of food delivered from Feed Nova Scotia each week.

As a result, their shelves are empty, and clients are leaving with fewer groceries.

The list below would meet their need.

Donation baskets will be by the entry door or near the coffee table at the back of the church sanctuary. Another basket can be found upstairs near the office.

There's always something happening at St. Andrew's!

The Sanctuary rang this weekend with the beautiful voices of the Polaris choir. Music with a message, their performance spoke to the uncertainty in our world, its challenges, and the need to rally behind those most at risk.
