Welcome to the 1st Sunday after Pentecost, known as Trinity Sunday. (It's a long season, this post-Pentecost, or Ordinary Time, or the Time of the Church - I guess the Church at one point decided either this was the best way to begin or else we should get this out of the way...) Nonetheless, you can track down the texts here:

We begin this week with the first of the two creation myths in Genesis - the re-working of an old Babylonian story which needs to be re-imagined on a regular basis as it works its way to the punchline about us being good stewards of an incredibly diverse and bountiful habitat. (Well, so much for that). Paul's letter to the Corinthians inadvertently uses what could be a trinitarian formula without himself knowing the doctrine that would evolve centuries later, and in Matthew, the redactor's finishing touch is to have Jesus utter the perfect baptismal formula...
And we will talk about all of this and more on Sunday at 10.

As always, we will open the worship space at 9:45 AM to give everyone a chance to do a little greeting before the service begins. See you then.

Parish buildings are not open now, and only individuals specifically authorized for an essential service may be in them (e.g., Heartfelt food packing). Those authorized individuals must wear masks, must practice social distancing and must sanitize touch areas as they enter and as they leave. This is not a matter of personal choice and applies to everyone including volunteers, business suppliers, and contract personnel. If you note a deviation you may politely remind the individual. If you are not comfortable doing that or doing so doesn’t correct the problem, please contact a church officer. There is now a sign in sheet at both entrances. Please fill it out with your name, date and time in/out of the parish hall. Thank you.
"SEE" YOU FRIDAY the 5th

In need of intellectual stimulation? Read a good book. Looking for the chance to strut your knowledge of all things trivial in front of a captive Zoom audience? Well, here's your chance...

On Friday evening, June 5, we will once more into the trivia breach. Game begins at 7 pm.

The game room will open at 6:40 so you have time to register your team or individual 'trivia' name - I'm still laughing over 'I am Smartacus' - and do some last minute cramming for the quiz.
This month's theme is: 'June Got Busted, It's All Over' (with apologies to Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. With luck, you may not have to answer any questions about the musical   Carousel,   their personal favorite).

Here is the link, your key to an evening of trivial frivolity:

If you are joining over the Zoom app, enter the meeting ID and password when prompted:

Password: 018091

Feel free to invite friends and family to play. Please have them contact us at   allsaints1692@allsaints1692.org   so we can identify them when they arrive for the quiz. And, before the game, please check out the specials at the Scorpion Brewery in Owings - our partner in trivia for the past five years. Through our monthly contests, we have raised thousands of dollars in support of youth leadership development in Calvert County.
All Saints Cooks

The “All Saints Cooks” series continues Saturday, June 13 th  at 10:00 AM, from the kitchen of Chef Cindy Overstrom .   You will know from many a pot-luck supper that Cindy is a very accomplished cook and this is one of her favorite dishes. We don’t want you to be put off by the fact that, while delicious, it is also healthy and pretty low in calories. (You can’t ask for everything…. But, if you do, stay tuned to the All Saints Cooks series’ future episodes, where many also-excellent cooks have agreed to be featured. (And, we have every reason to believe the pleas of the men’s “No-Fat No-Good Outreach Breakfast Team” will be honored occasionally.) Please plan on joining Cindy through the wonders of Zoom, with this connection information.
