Welcome to virtual worship for this, the 2nd Sunday after Pentecost.
The 'green' season begins in earnest.
You can access the texts for Sunday by following this link:  http://www.lectionarypage.net/YearA_RCL/Pentecost/AProp6_RCL.html

This Sunday we begin in the book of Exodus with a bit of a preamble to the commandments which Moses is about to reveal to the people camped at Sinai. Paul's letter to the Romans expounds on the notion of justification by faith which the Protestant Reformation will adopt as its mantra - JxF T shirts will be available in the virtual lobby - and; in the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus gears up his disciples for mission, a fitting text as we enter into Ordinary Time, or the time of the Church - a season of maturation and growth.

As always, we will open the worship space at 9:45 AM to give everyone a chance to do a little greeting before the service begins at 10. And, we will once again be called into silent reflection before the service begins.

The Vestry Plan for Parish Regathering

After considering the views of parishioners expressed to the Vestry, and the outcomes of last month’s All-Parish Leadership Meeting, the Vestry has approved a plan for our parish regathering. It is a conservative, gradual approach intended to protect the most vulnerable among us, and to ensure that everyone will be able to participate in all services, making individual decisions whether to do so in person or by electronic means. It’s intended to be flexible and responsive to changing circumstances. The summary of the plan is provided here, and the full plan is available on the Parish website. Please consider them. The Rector and officers of the Parish welcome your thoughts. Link to plan summary >>> Summary

PLEASE NOTE AND RESPECT
Parish buildings are not open now, and only individuals specifically authorized for an essential service may be in them (e.g., Heartfelt food packing). Those authorized individuals must wear masks, must practice social distancing and must sanitize touch areas as they enter and as they leave. This is not a matter of personal choice and applies to everyone including volunteers, business suppliers, and contract personnel. If you note a deviation you may politely remind the individual. If you are not comfortable doing that or doing so doesn’t correct the problem, please contact a church officer. There is now a sign in sheet at both entrances. Please fill it out with your name, date and time in/out of the parish hall. Thank you.
All Saints Cooks

The “All Saints Cooks” series continues Saturday, June 13 th  at 10:00 AM, from the kitchen of Chef Cindy Overstrom .   You will know from many a pot-luck supper that Cindy is a very accomplished cook and this is one of her favorite dishes. We don’t want you to be put off by the fact that, while delicious, it is also healthy and pretty low in calories. (You can’t ask for everything…. But, if you do, stay tuned to the All Saints Cooks series’ future episodes, where many also-excellent cooks have agreed to be featured. (And, we have every reason to believe the pleas of the men’s “No-Fat No-Good Outreach Breakfast Team” will be honored occasionally.) Please plan on joining Cindy through the wonders of Zoom, with this connection information.

Skills Extravaganza
Deb Watson returns to All Saints Skills Extravaganza with "Furniture Painting Basics, Part II", on Saturday, June 20, 10:00 am. Don't worry if you missed Part I since Deb will do a recap of what she presented before moving on to additional skills. Make sure to join her for this very informative, fun and interesting program.

In this demonstration, we'll begin with a recap of the prep basics for painting furniture.
We'll then move to:
  • how to avoid potential problems
  • the best tools for painting various architectural features
  • -how to apply a basic glaze over a base color and other decorative features
  • the most durable top coats and how to apply them

The Zoom link will be sent out with mid-week reminders!
A hearty thanks to John Overstrom for his "Small Engine Repair" Skills Extravaganza episode last Saturday. In case you missed it, here's the link: Lastweekshow

I plan to use the same format as last time with everyone doing their own local wine tasting presentation. Here is a refresh of what we did the last time:

We will have the Zoom open for people to talk together as everyone joins in. Then we'll go around to each attendee for a quick hello and welcome before we start the wine tasting presentations.  Each household uses a wine / wines of their choice, and provides their own hors d'oeurves. Each household will get about 5 minutes to present their wine, discuss it's attributes and explain / describe their food selection. The presentation is intended to be fun, it can be entertaining, interesting, informative, funny, ....it may be all about the wine, or may have little to do with the wine, so be creative. The format is entirely up to the presenter similar to our usual wine tasting.

Donations
The charity we will likely recommend for this month is HeartF.E.L.T. This program provides backpacks with food to elementary school children.
Typically this program has provided the backpacks for the children to take home from school for the weekend, but the program has continued through this school year even though the schools have not been open. There are on-going discussions about the possibility of continuing the program throughout the summer due to the increased need this year. If that is done, additional food will be required.

We can donate to the church's community outreach online, and direct that donation to HeartF.E.L.T. We plan to have Steve Watson (church treasurer) available again to monitor the contributions during the wine tasting and let us know in near real time how much money our group has raised.

The church's website is:
Here's a link directly to the donation page:
To donate by credit card click on the "CLICK HERE TO GIVE ONLINE" button
Once there click on "choose a fund" and select "Giving Back to Our Community" then select "HeartF.E.L.T." as a sub category.
You can put in a note that says you are part of the wine tasting group.

There is also a PayPal donation button; this option also allows you to add a notation to associate the donation with wine tasting and direct it towards HeartF.E.L.T.
The ECW meeting via Zoom on the 3rd Saturday of the month is changed to 1 pm for the duration of the quarantine.
