Welcome to virtual worship for this, the 12th Sunday after Pentecost

You can access the texts for Sunday by following this link:

Once again we gather utilizing one of the treasures of our tradition - Morning Prayer (Don't get too used to it....)
In our assigned texts, we encounter Second Isaiah and his words of hope, which anticipate the return from exile and the restoration of a land laid waste. In Matthew's gospel we get another sort of restoration as Peter has some of his tarnished image repaired. (We know what you're up to, Matthew...)

As always, we will open the worship space at 9:45 AM to give everyone a chance to do a little greeting before the service begins at 10. And, we will once again be called into silent reflection before the service begins.

Announcements
Message from our Rector

I am looking forward to a little down time - a chance to catch up on some pleasure reading, create some music, attempt a few recipes, do a little writing and focus on family and friends.
In my virtual absence from my virtual office, know that you can call on our regional deacon Lisa Siciliano for pastoral emergencies and our leadership for other issues, great or small.

I know that these are trying times for all of us. The isolation and anxiety we feel, the disruption of familiar routines, abetted by the roller coaster of the daily news cycle, effect us all to different degrees. But there is an impact just the same. It is cumulative, and as the days melt into weeks it conspires to rob us of our energy and resolve.

Be strong. While I am away remember to be kind to yourself and to all others. Be patient - especially with yourself. And take time to do something that brings you joy, that recharges you. That restores hope and renews your passion to be part of what brings forth the kingdom of Love.

I'll see you soon. Until then, know that you are all held in prayers.

From our Music Director:

Since we are still gathering for Virtual Sunday Services and we are using primarily pre-recorded music, the need to create videos and PowerPoint presentations has become our modus operandi. It would make those presentations much more personal if, in their creation, I could use some photos that are special to our own folks. If you would like to share photos for this purpose of scenery from your travels or local scenery, flowers, gardens, wildlife...the list goes on...please email them to me at: dewatson94@comcast.net
Thanks so much!
Deb Watson

There are now children's face masks available in the church. Thank you, Sue Pierce!

The Connections Commission has almost completed the task of gathering information for our upcoming new and improved website. We are now in the process of gathering pictures to use and need your help. We are looking for photos, both current and historical, and hope that you can help us.  If you have any pictures that you would like to share - on your phone, stored on your computer or in albums, bags and boxes - that are related to all things All Saints, please scan and send to the Connections Commission (allsaints1692connections@gmail.com). If you cannot scan or send them, please let us know and we can arrange to make copies for the photos you have to share. Thanks, in advance, for sharing!

Skills extravaganza Do you have an antique mechanical clock that runs for a bit but then stops prematurely? Routine cleaning and lubrication were unexpected parts of owning these clocks. With that in mind, many were designed for ease of maintenance. In John Overstrom's talk, he will discuss how these clocks work and go over some basic steps you can do to get your clock running again. Tune in to Skills Extravaganza 10 a.m., Saturday, August 29, to learn more.
The ECW meeting via Zoom will be on Saturday, Sept.19 at 1 pm
Les Saints du Vin will meet on Sunday, September 13 from 4 - 7 pm.
Virtual coffee shop is on hiatus until August 27th.

PLEASE NOTE AND RESPECT
Parish buildings are not open now, and only individuals specifically authorized for an essential service may be in them (e.g., Heartfelt food packing). Those authorized individuals must wear masks, must practice social distancing and must sanitize touch areas as they enter and as they leave. This is not a matter of personal choice and applies to everyone including volunteers, business suppliers, and contract personnel. If you note a deviation you may politely remind the individual. If you are not comfortable doing that or doing so doesn’t correct the problem, please contact a church officer. There is now a sign in sheet at both entrances. Please fill it out with your name, date and time in/out of the parish hall. Thank you.
Reminder From the News Team. Info and flyers to be published in the September monthly newsletter needed to be received via email by NEXT Tuesday, August 25th. Please send information to allsaints1692@allsaints1692.org AND allsaints1692connections @gmail.com. This allows time for editing and clarification when needed. Please submit your event in the form you wish it to appear and complete. Example: If it's a cooking show, please include the recipe with the copy.
