This week, Track 2 takes us into the book of Jonah for a bit of fun with God and his extremely unhappy prophet; in Philippians, Paul waxes philosophical about his personal choices, and in Matthew, Jesus offers a parable about the perils of being generous...

As always, we will open the worship space at 9:45 AM to give everyone a chance to do a little greeting before the service begins at 10. And, we will once again be called into silent reflection before the service begins.

Announcements
The Closing the Gap Coalition will be holding a series of virtual town halls spotlighting the members of our community who are running for a position on the Calvert County Board of Education. Starting Monday evening, September 21 and running through October, each session will feature one of the candidates in an evening of in-depth conversation.

Here is the schedule: September 21 – Inez Claggett; October 12 – Chad Leo; October 19 – Dawn Balinski; and October 26 – Antoine White.

The town halls will begin at 7 PM and end at 8:30. Individuals interested in participating should contact the Coalition at closingthegapforum2020@gmail.com for information on how to join the town hall.

The Closing the Gap Coalition has made every effort to accommodate and include all candidates for the Board. We offer these town halls as part of our commitment to keep information before the public as we work together to close the gap in access, quality and performance in education.

Our Outreach Breakfast is coming back...virtually. Ken+ will open the Zoom meeting at 9am for those who would like to have time to chat, drink a cup of coffee or have your breakfast together. We might not be sitting next to each other in the Parish Hall, but we can certainly creatively continue the tradition online. As we gather together, please consider an Outreach donation as you would when we gather together for a delicious breakfast provided by our Parish chefs. Use this link to donate: https://app.easytithe.com/App/Form/75a4c0ce-62fc-401c-abaf-991d27947bcf .

“We Love Calvert Arts Festival $10K Benefit for Children”

The countdown to our $10K Benefit for Children began on September 1st. We are more than halfway through our September “Focus on Our Artisans” promotion on Facebook. Be sure to make a stop on the Calvert Arts Festival page and support our loyal artisan friends. Shop online for unique holiday and birthday gifts or even a one-of-a-kind special gift for yourself.

We need your help to publicize All Saints’/CAF support of local businesses on social media. Several artisans are being featured on the CAF Facebook page each day. You can help us support these businesses by taking a few moments every day to go to the CAF Facebook page. Support is as simple as “Loving” the post, “Liking” the artisan’s Facebook page, making a quick comment and sharing each post. You can also support the $10K Benefit fundraiser starting today by emailing the flyer out to your friends, family, neighbors, etc. Your encouragement will help us ensure a successful ”We Love Calvert Arts Festival $10K Benefit for Children”.

When the actual fundraiser begins on October 1st, you will find the daily results on the homepage of our All Saints’ website (www.allsaints1692.org). While our goal is to raise at least $10K, breaking that goal would be AMAZING!
I Am Thankful For....
We will be celebrating Thanksgiving very soon. (Can it be that Thanksgiving is only 2 months away?) Even though this has been a difficult year for all of us, we have so much for which to be thankful. Giving thanks is a part of our daily lives, but it plays a major role in any Thanksgiving celebration. This year at All Saints', we would like for you to share with all of the parishoners some of the things that you are thankful for. If you have not yet read the email sent on Wednesday, click https://conta.cc/3hKpaPe to find out about the parish-wide project that the Parish Family Life Commission has in store for us!
PLEASE NOTE AND RESPECT
Parish buildings are not open now, and only individuals specifically authorized for an essential service may be in them (e.g., Heartfelt food packing). Those authorized individuals must wear masks, must practice social distancing and must sanitize touch areas as they enter and as they leave. This is not a matter of personal choice and applies to everyone including volunteers, business suppliers, and contract personnel. If you note a deviation you may politely remind the individual. If you are not comfortable doing that or doing so doesn’t correct the problem, please contact a church officer. There is now a sign in sheet at both entrances. Please fill it out with your name, date and time in/out of the parish hall. Thank you.
Reminder From the News Team. Info and flyers to be published in the October monthly newsletter needed to be received via email by Wednesday, September 23. Please send information to allsaints1692@allsaints1692.org AND allsaints1692connections @gmail.com. This allows time for editing and clarification when needed. Please submit your event in the form you wish it to appear and complete. Example: If it's a cooking show, please include the recipe with the copy.
