Imam Seth Ibrahim

We are saddened to hear about the passing of Imam Seth Ibrahim, a towering figure in the Chicago Muslim community, who passed away the day before yesterday after a courageous battle with colon cancer.

Imam Seth’s contributions to the Muslim community in Chicago were truly groundbreaking. A bridge-builder by nature, he played a pivotal role in connecting immigrant Muslims with the African American Muslim community, fostering unity and mutual respect.

He was among the earliest members of the Muslim Community Center (MCC) and served as the imam at the Mosque of Umar on the South Side of Chicago, providing spiritual leadership and unwavering dedication to his congregation.

In addition to his religious and community leadership, Imam Seth was also a longtime member of the ISNA Convention Steering Committee, where he served for many years as the childcare chairman, a role he embraced with care and commitment.

Imam Seth Ibrahim will be remembered as a humble servant, a unifier, and a pillar of the community whose legacy will endure through the countless lives he touched.

May Allah (SWT) grant him the highest place in Jannah and bring comfort to his family and friends.

Rooted in Revelation - Embodying the Quran’s Message in Every Step

The Quran isn’t just meant to be recited, it’s meant to be lived. The Prophet SAW was described as a "walking Quran," and as his followers, we are called to embody its message in our actions, character, and daily decisions. This camp will focus on applying the Quran’s lessons to real lifestrengthening our faith, improving our relationships, and making ethical choices. Through reflection, discussion, and action, we’ll explore how to turn the Quran’s guidance into a lived reality. It’s time to live by the Quran, not just in words, but in every step.
