From Our Principal
The "O Antiphons" of Advent is a Christian tradition that dates back to at least the 8th Century. These antiphons accompanied Evening Prayer from December 17-23. They proclaim the coming of Christ through biblical imagery from the Old Testament and express a longing for the Messiah. They are remembered today in the verses of the song, "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel." Saint Benedict Parish will hold an "O Antiphons" Holy Hour on Tuesday, December 18 at 6:30pm for those interested in this beautiful devotion.
Lessons & Carols - Update!
Due to the snow, our Lessons and Carols event has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 19th at 11:30am at Saint Benedict Church. Please remember that this is a half day with dismissal at 12:30pm, so we hope you can plan to arrive an hour earlier to enjoy this wonderful way to kick off the Christmas season! The children are practicing for this event and are excited to sing for you!
Santa Shop Items DUE TOMORROW 12/12!!
Calling all creative parents!
If you have a creative hobby you enjoy such as painting, wood working, design, sculpture or photography, the PTO is looking for you! We are in need of two parents per grade level to work with their class and the art teacher to create this year’s Gala Class Projects.

These parents will share their creative talents with the kids and work closely with the art teacher throughout the year.

The Gala art projects are always a hit during the live auction and generate proceeds that help our school. Please go  HERE  to sign up!

DEC. 18TH - Give some time at the  Santa Shop  helping students find what they need.

REGARDING VOLUNTEER HOUR TRACKING! A reminder to all: It is your responsibility to enter your hours in RenWeb. Each family is required to fulfill 20 support hours per year,   8 of which must be completed in the first semester . If you have completed these hours but have not yet entered them, please take the time to do so now. If you still need to fulfill hours, the opportunities listed above are a great way to satisfy them.  A fee of $40 per unfulfilled hour will be assessed on January 1, 2019.

Our NEXT PTO meeting is Thursday, December 13th. Please join us! We always look forward to seeing new faces!!
Faith in Action: Coat Drive!
The student council will again be sponsoring a used coat drive for the needy. Please send any gently used coats to Mr. Cichocki's room between now and December 17th. Thank you for supporting this worthy cause.

Saint Benedict’s Comet Campaign  closes the gap between what our tuition dollars cover and what our operating costs as a school are. We count on you, our families, to help close that gap.  Please give today.  You can make an outright gift or you can pledge your gift and make payments monthly. Click  HERE  for a form, that can be filled out and sent to school with your child or you can make a donation via PayPal on our website  HERE .
Please do what you can for our Comet Community!

Karoling with Kumro - Thursday, December 20th, 6:30pm Please join us for Saint Benedict’s third annual “Karoling with Kumro.” This exciting event is open to parishioners and friends of all ages. We will continue our mission of evangelization by sharing the Good News of the Birth of Our Savior with our neighbors by singing Christmas carols. We will meet on Thursday, December 20th at 6:30pm in the Parish Center to enjoy fellowship, Kookies, and KoKoa, sponsored by the young adults of the parish. We will begin Karoling through the neighborhood at about 7:15pm, singing everyone’s favorite Christmas carols, led by our Choirmaster, Joel S. Kumro. Afterward, we will return to the Parish Center for more food and fellowship. This is a great event for the whole family; all ages and singing abilities are welcome and encouraged to attend. Invite your friends! Mass is available at 5:30pm, and the Sacrament of Penance will follow at 6:15pm.
