Santa's Shop
Time to do some winter closet cleaning just in time for the 8th grade Santa Shop coming on  Monday, December 18th (this is a calendar change)!  We are looking for  gently used or new items. Please bring these items to the school by December 13th so our shop will be ready!  Money collected will go towards scholarships and the 8th grade field trip. Suggested items: candles, Christmas decorations, ties, scarves, new socks, new hats( never worn), books, wrapping paper, picture frames, vases, jewelry, kitchen and dining ware, stationary, toiletries, tools, board games, stuffed animal, baby items, and other new or gently used gifts. Thank you for your contributions!
New Music Teacher
We have a new music teacher! Warmest welcome to Alicia DeLoach Thompson. Alicia earned a Bachelors of Music from Valdosta State University and a Master of Music from Georgia State University. Her area of concentration was vocal performance and she has experience with acting, dance, opera, and as a soloist/chorister in church choirs. Most recently, she has offered private voice and piano lessons for individuals and groups. We are excited that she will be sharing her experience and love of music with our students.
Knights of Columbus Coats for Kids
We are still collecting coats through the end of the week for the annual Knights of Columbus sponsored Coats for Kids project. If you have any gently used coats you would like to donate to this cause, please bring them to the school THIS week and drop them off in Mr. Cichocki's history room next to the office. Thank you for your generosity and support.  
Lessons and Carols
The Festival of Lessons and Carols is a service of Christian worship celebrating the birth of Jesus.  The story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus is told in nine short Bible readings from Genesis, the prophetic books and the Gospels, interspersed with the singing of Christmas carols, hymns and choir music. Our students will present this event on Tuesday, December 12th at Saint Benedict Church at 6:30pm. Join us for this Advent season tradition.   
Comet Campaign Update
The goal of the Comet Campaign is to have 100% participation from our families, with each family giving according to their means and circumstances. If you have yet to donate, there’s no time like the present to remember what Saint Benedict School means to you and your family! Your donation helps us meet our expenses, allowing us to provide the best for your student. Here is the Pledge and Contribution Form .  If you have already given, THANK YOU and please make sure your student has signed our Comets Banner in the front hall using the markers found at the front desk.
Saint Benedict School in Pictures:
The "Saint Benedict Players" presented "Yes, Virginia There is a Santa Clause" to our students and then for families and the public over this past weekend. Thank you Mr. Chichocki, our Director, for your talent and time. The production was a HUGE success and enjoyed by all!  
PTO News
Now is the time to bring in your gently used uniforms so that we can prepare for the uniform swap. Donated uniforms should be in good condition. All uniforms must be in a bag labeled with your name and number of items donated so that you can get credit.  The date of the swap is still to be confirmed. Stay tuned!

A reminder to all: It is your responsibility to enter your hours in RenWeb. Each family is required to fulfill 20 support hours per year, 8 of which must be completed in the first semester. If you have completed these hours but have not yet entered them, please take the time to do so now. If you sill need to fulfill hours, the opportunities listed above are a great way to satisfy them. A fee of $40 per unfulfilled hour will be assessed on January 1, 2018.

Our NEXT PTO meeting is THIS Thursday, December 7th at 6pm in the school cafeteria.  Please join us! We always look forward to seeing new faces!!
Calling All Alumni
Saint Benedict Catholic School alumni are invited to a Wine & Cheese Reception preceding Lessons & Carols on Tuesday, September 12. The reception will be in the Parish Hall and starts at 5:00pm, followed by Lessons and Carols at 6:30pm in Saint Benedict Church. Please RSVP to Pat Maehr - pmaehr@saintbenedictschool.org
