Saint Mary School Brings Hope to NJ Children

This Christmas Season, our Saint Mary School community came together in generosity through our Toys for Tots program. Thanks to our students, families, faculty, staff, and the leadership of Mr. Johnson, donations poured in with joyful purpose. Our younger students helped organize the toy bags, while our Student Council proudly carried them out for delivery. We were honored to welcome Vice Commandant Michael Waluk, Toys for Tots Coordinator for the National Northeast Division, who personally greeted our students and collected the gifts for distribution across New Jersey. “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” — Acts 20:35

A Message from the Head of School

Dear Saint Mary Families,

Even though we just finished celebrating the Christmas season, we’re already gearing up to begin registration for the next school year! Please watch for re-registration information for our current families, which will be coming out soon.

A couple of important points for you to know as we approach registration:

  1. In the coming weeks I will be announcing some significant changes to the Middle School schedule that will emphasize literature, writing, and math. I will also be sharing our comprehensive plan for technology that will guide our use and integration of technology.

  2. Our marketing team discovered that over 95% of registrations to Saint Mary School are attributed to word of mouth. That means our current families and alumni families play a critical role in recruiting new students to our school! Our continued success relies largely on our members sharing their positive experiences and the results they’ve seen from sending their children here. As we approach this period of registration, please share with others what you love about Saint Mary School! Also, don’t be afraid to share social media posts to help extend our reach to new families.

Warmly,

Mr. Johnson

A MESSAGE FROM YOUR PASTOR

Dear Saint Mary School Parents,

Happy and Blessed New Year to you and your family. As we begin this new year, please know of my gratitude for you and for the beautiful gift of your children entrusted to Saint Mary School. I pray that 2026 will be a year filled with God’s peace, health, and abundant blessings for your home and family.

One of the beautiful traditions of the Church during the New Year is the blessing of homes. Your home is your domestic church the sacred place where faith is lived daily, where children are formed in love, prayer, and virtue, and where Christ desires to dwell. A home blessing is a simple yet powerful way to invite God’s protection, peace, and grace upon your family and all who enter your home.

If you would like me to stop by to bless your home in the New Year, I would be very happy to do so. Please email me at frjeffkegley@aol.com or call or text me on my cell at 609-954-3356, and we will arrange a time that works best for your family. Be assured of my prayers for you and your children, and thank you for being such an important part of the Saint Mary School family.

With prayers and blessings,

Father Jeff Kegley

Pastor

CLASSICAL MUSINGS

A new year, a new dance. We ended our final musing of last year with the concept of a dance.  Catholic education, when properly experienced, is not a collection of disconnected parts but rather an intricate dance with many steps. Jesus is the center of this dance with each child as His partner and the teachers as the choreographers. The result is an amazing experience that lasts forever.

We often say that true education is not a ladder but participation in the web of learning. It is a web that develops the child into the formed adult through the wonder of creation and in truth, goodness, and beauty. It is a place where the child is of utmost importance, where that child’s inner life is given a space to grow and develop, where technology is used to support this development and not overtake it. Finally, it is where each child is given the tools to help bring the kingdom of God to all. Happy New Year!
