SAVE THE DATE

Our Welcome Fair is set for August 19!
New families start at 8am and returning
families join us at 9am.
REPORT CARDS

Please pick up final report cards from the main office. We've still got yours, if you were not at the school on the last day.
SUMMER HOURS
If you are planning to stop by school to drop off paperwork or other items, please be sure to CALL FIRST (804-254-8850). The school office hours are typically from 9am-3pm, M-F, but with a small summer staff, we might be in other parts of the building or in a meeting and unable to hear the doorbell. So plan ahead and call first so we can be on the lookout for you! Thank you!
THE SAINT BENEDICT PLAYERS

All of you theatre enthusiasts and Lovers of the Saint Benedict Players should take note. This coming school year we will be presenting "The Best Little Christmas Pageant Ever" for our Christmas show and the musical version of "The Wizard of Oz" in the spring. Exact dates have yet to be determined, but audition and show dates will all be sent home once school opens in August. I am excited about these two shows, and I'm looking forward to presenting the fine theatre that has become a tradition of the Saint Benedict Players. If you have any questions please send them to me at:

THANK YOU

The student council would like to thank everyone who participated in the pop top program. It's as simple as taking them off your cans and having your student bring them to school. Not only does the participating student earn points for their house, but the school donates all of the tops to the Ronald McDonald House on Monument Avenue. This year we were able to contribute over nine pounds of tops which will benefit a family who is staying in town while their child is receiving specialized medical treatment. Thank you again and start saving now for the upcoming school year!!
HOORAY

Thank you for participating in the Kroger Community Rewards program. Because many of you signed up for this program, Saint Benedict Catholic School received a check for $345 this week. If you haven't signed up, please consider joining!
YAY LUNCH

Beginning this fall we'll be partnering with Yay Lunch to offer healthy, locally-sourced school lunches.

Yay Lunch partners with local vendors to craft healthy lunches kids love available for delivery directly to Saint Benedict. This year's vendors will include Baker's Crust, Jason's Deli, Taziki's Mediterranean Cafe, Ellwood Thompson's, & California Pizza Kitchen. Look for more details coming soon!

Nurses Corner: Get Ready for Next Year!
This is a reminder for all parents with children starting KINDERGARTEN in the fall. They will need a recent physical exam and be up-to-date on their immunizations. And, all rising 6TH GRADE students will need a TDAP booster before the start of the fall semester. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Debbie York , school nurse.
Upcoming EDGE and The Rule Events
Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
The Edge: Summer Schedule
The Edge summer schedule and permission form is now available! Events include a trip to Luray Caverns and our fourth annual kickball classic. All summer events are open to rising 6th through rising 8th graders.
