DIRECTOR'S REPORT

Many wonderful things happening this past week! Congratulations to the JV Winter Guard on their Division 1 rating (and missing finals by just .5!) at the WGI Power Regional this weekend. Winter Percussion competed in their WGI Regional in Los Osos turning in a solid performance and our Varsity Winter Guard brought home the Scholastic Open regional championship, finishing first out of 13 teams.

Also congrats to the Wind Ensembles for turning in moving and committed performances at the San Joaquin Valley Music for all Festival in Clovis.

Many thanks to the dozens of parents who helped chaperone, drive, serve food and support 170 Amador band and guard students this weekend.

Spring break is right around the corner so a few calendar reminders for you:

April 25-CMEA State Band & Orchestra Festival (Wind 1)

May 2-CMEA Area Festival @ AVHS (all 5 concert bands)

May 10-Bandcake Breakfast @ AVHS (all 5 concert bands and all 3 jazz bands)

May 20-Spring Band Concert @ AVHS (all 5 concert bands)

May 21-Spring Collage/Jazz Concert @ AVHS (all 3 jazz bands + small ensembles)

AFM General Meeting March 31, 2025 and Announcement of Slate for 2025/26 AFM Board

Our AFM General Meeting will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025, 7pm-8:30pm via Zoom. Please use this link to RSVP for the meeting and get a zoom link the day of the meeting.

At this meeting, we will hear from our music directors and board members. We will also be electing next year's AFM Board. The slate is as follows. Note, we will still be taking nominations during the meeting:

For the Band to play, we need parent support! Mark your calendars and volunteer for the following events:

May 2 & 3, 2025: CMEA Band & Orchestra Festival @ AVHS

May 10, 2025: Bandcake Breakfast, Band Fundraiser with breakfast and performances by all AV Bands @ AVHS

Sign ups will be shared 2 weeks before the event. We do need core volunteers to help for the music festival with publicity/signs, ushering, director check/in etc, for Bandcake Breakfast with auction/raffle. Contact Soojin Hwang, president@amadormusic.org, for more info.
