Latest News from the Search Committee
We have completed our first round of interviews and have prayerfully narrowed down the list of applicants. Our short list has been approved by our Bishops. The next phase is visiting the remaining applicants at their home churches over the next several weeks.
Per guidelines set forth by the diocese and our search consultant we are obligated to keep confidential all information about our applicants and unfortunately have not been able to answer questions posed by many of you. Note that our applicants are applying to us in complete confidentiality as they are currently very actively involved in their present parishes. Thank you all for understanding and rest assured that God already has in mind who our next Rector is!
We anticipate that the Search Committee's work will be done and the vestry will be able to call our new rector early in the new year. Please pray for the remaining candidates and for the committee as we move into the final phases of the search process.
Faithfully, The Search Committee

Sunday Forum - This Sunday 9:15 am in the Library
This fall the Adult Forum is based on Presiding Bishop Michael Curry's 9-session program called
The Way of Love
which he calls "...an intentional commitment to a set of practices. It's a commitment to follow Jesus: Turn, Learn, Pray, Worship, Bless. Go, Rest."
What are some rules of life that exist in your own life, consciously or unconsciously? Are they helpful, limiting, counterproductive?
Can following Jesus, the Way of Love, be a rule of life for you? And what does that mean?

St. Paul's Church Fall Fair & Silent Auction

Diamond Anniversary! -
It's Here!
Only a couple of days now before Fair Day – the countdown begins! And you may think we’re down to just two parts of our mantra:
Spread the Word, and Be There!
|
|
Well yes, but … we do ask that no more
donations
be brought in so there’s time to catalog and price everything correctly, we do have one request at a very short notice. We go through a lot of packing paper etc. on Fair Day, what with wrapping up the treasures that people have bought and/or bid on, some of which are quite fragile, and we need bags for people to carry away same treasures. So, if you have stuff lying around your house and can get it to us by Friday evening (!) we need: tissue paper, unprinted newsprint paper, and paper bags with handles (please no plastic.)
Many thanks to all of your who have already offered to
volunteer,
and to those who indeed are working already. If you decide you would like to help out on Fair Day come along in, and chat with our greeter, who will point you to Mary or Annie who will know which areas have the most need.
So we are left with
Spread the Word
. Please continue to tell everyone about what a wonderful time they’ll have at our Diamond Jubilee Fair and Silent Auction. And, of course, make sure that
You Be There!
Our Fall Fair and Silent Auction has been an annual event for 60 years, and for all those years it has continued to bring in much needed funds to help our ongoing outreach and provide a great day of treasure hunting and fellowship for the community. Help us make this our best year yet, and show everyone who comes through our doors what a friendly and welcoming congregation we are at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Newburyport.

The Vestry on Sunday unanimously approved all of the recommendations put forth by the Accessibility Task Force, including installing a ramp to the Narthex door on the east side of the church. Please see a summary of these recommendations here.
Work is still being done to refine exactly how all of these recommendations will be implemented. We will be sure to keep you updated as we move forward with all of these tasks.

This workshop will combine individual and group practices of Celtic Spirituality with compelling Celtic story!
Fr. Paul is a semi-retired priest who shares Celtic Spirituality around the US. He is a member and presenter for the Anamchara Fellowship, a dispersed religious community founded in the tradition of the Episcopal Church, with a Celtic spirit, an inclusive community, welcoming men and women, clergy and lay, married, single, or partners in a committed relationship.
