Latest News from the Search Committee
We have completed our first round of interviews and have prayerfully narrowed down the list of applicants. Our short list has been approved by our Bishops. The next phase is visiting the remaining applicants at their home churches over the next several weeks.
Per guidelines set forth by the diocese and our search consultant we are obligated to keep confidential all information about our applicants and unfortunately have not been able to answer questions posed by many of you. Note that our applicants are applying to us in complete confidentiality as they are currently very actively involved in their present parishes. Thank you all for understanding and rest assured that God already has in mind who our next Rector is!
We anticipate that the Search Committee's work will be done and the vestry will be able to call our new rector early in the new year. Please pray for the remaining candidates and for the committee as we move into the final phases of the search process.
Faithfully, The Search Committee

Sunday Forum - Sunday, November 3 in the Library
This fall the Adult Forum is based on Presiding Bishop Michael Curry's 9-session program called
The Way of Love
which he calls "...an intentional commitment to a set of practices. It's a commitment to follow Jesus: Turn, Learn, Pray, Worship, Bless. Go, Rest." On Nov. 3rd we will focus on one fundamental, prerequisite question: What does it mean to you to follow Jesus?

FALL FAIR & SILENT AUCTION

St. Paul's Church Fall Fair & Silent Auction
Saturday, November 9, 2019 -
Diamond Anniversary!
Just over a week to go now before Fair Day – and we’re going to repeat our mantra:
Donate, Volunteer, Spread the Word, and Be There!
|
|
Thank you for your Donations – we have some wonderful items as ever this year but more is always good! We can accept donations up until next Sunday, November 3 so make sure you check out your basement and attics soon!
We are still looking for more Volunteers for many areas. If you feel you can help out, for any amount of time, even if just for an hour, you are absolutely needed! Please let Mary or Annie know; our contact information is below. We are especially looking for some folks who can help with some ‘heavy lifting’ this coming Sunday, November 3, after the church service. We need help in the Clothing area in the basement to set up racks, and in the Silent Auction area in the church to set up heavy boards across the pews.
For those who would like to use The Square, our card reading app for the Fair, John Neale is offering two training sessions, this Sunday, November 3, after the service, and again on Tuesday, November 5, at 6:30 p.m.
We are also in need of tables. Do you have a five or six foot table that you can loan during the Fair?
Please let Annie Winslow know at 508-733-0651 ASAP so that we can reduce the number of tables we need to rent. It would be great if you could bring the table(s) to church on Sunday or let Annie know if you need it picked up.
And, of course, continue to Spread the Word. Tell everyone you meet about our Fair and Silent Auction, and how they will miss out on a wonderful event if they are not there!
Please make sure that You do not miss it. It really is a fun day and you will have a great time getting ahead of your holiday shopping and enjoying meeting up with friends. Yes, You must Be There.
Our Fall Fair and Silent Auction has been an annual event for 60 years, and for all those years it has continued to bring in much needed funds to help our ongoing outreach and provide a great day of treasure hunting and fellowship for the community. Help us make this our best year yet!

The Vestry on Sunday unanimously approved all of the recommendations put forth by the Accessibility Task Force, including installing a ramp to the Narthex door on the east side of the church. Please see a summary of these recommendations here.
Work is still being done to refine exactly how all of these recommendations will be implemented. We will be sure to keep you updated as we move forward with all of these tasks.
