Spring Camps 2025 - Journey After Death
Registration Closed
The Journey After Death theme will take a deep dive into what happens after we leave this world. Inspired by Sheikh Omar Suleiman's Judgment Day series, we’ll explore the stages of the soul’s journey. We’ll cover death, the grave, the Day of Judgment, and our eternal home.This theme connects to the Hadith of the Prophet SAW: “Be in this world as though you were a stranger or a traveler.” (Sahih al-Bukhari). It’s a reminder that this life is temporary and our real goal is what comes next. While some parts of this topic might feel heavy, we’ll also focus on Allah’s mercy, the rewards of the righteous, and the hope that comes with striving to be better.This camp will be about understanding the hereafter while learning how to live a meaningful and purposeful life today.

Congratulations Br Ashfaq Syed
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Brother Ashfaq Syed on his election to the Naperville City Council. In a historic milestone, Syed becomes the first Muslim American Indian to serve in this distinguished role, marking a significant step forward in representation and inclusion for the Naperville community.
Brother Syed attributes his victory to the unwavering grassroots support, the tireless efforts of hundreds of dedicated volunteers, and a broad, diverse coalition of supporters united in their vision for a stronger, more inclusive Naperville. His campaign focused on sustainable development, environmental stewardship, transparent governance, economic resilience, and public safety. Syed has been a longtime advocate of local nonprofits and served as President of the Naperville Public Library. Brother Ashfaq Syed has also served as secretary of the ISNA Convention Steering Committee.

HIRA Intensive 2025 is here!
This year's HIRA Intensive course will be held July 6-27, 2025 in Flint, Michigan. The Beloved Prophet (s) retreated to the Cave of Hira as a place of solitude to reflect upon himself and build his relationship with his Creator. In the same light, MYNA’s Hira Intensive calls upon youth to dedicate time towards strengthening their mind, body, and soul through a deeper understanding of the foundations of faith. From studying tafsir and fiqh to understanding who our Creator is, who His Prophet (s) is, and who we are, this program aims to equip the youth of today with the knowledge and skills to navigate the modern world around them.

Reflecting green building after Ramadhan - Building Social Good, Health, and Community
a) Nourishment – Healthy Mind, Body and Spirit. Read on prophet medicine and natural herbal remedies. Buy fair trade products. Get daily vitamin D from daylight walks. Consume less. Drink a lot of water and eat healthily.
b) Social good and outreach. Join civic activities, volunteer at homeless shelters, collect food for food pantries, join community social projects, invite non-Muslims to community and home dinners, and take care of Muslim inmates in nearby jails. Involve children and youth - find ways for youth participation in age-appropriate Ramadan activities. i.e., Youth can act as green ambassadors during community dinners. Do activities during “Earth Day.”
c) Green Khutbah. Ask your Imam to deliver at least one Friday khutbah during Ramadan on the Islamic imperative as the khalifah of Allah, to conserve and protect the environment as a duty and its social good.
d) Education Series workshops i.e. Green Initiatives fundraising, Energy Star Training. Select a community green coordinator.
e) Green Projects & lectures: Bee keeping, Composting, garden building workshops, rain harvesting.
