Tag Day for Hurricane Harvey Relief
We are going to have our first Tag Day of the year this Thursday, September 7. Please review the tag day dress guidelines found in the school handbook. Remember that tag days are always optional. GRSM Band Program
Greater Richmond School of Music (GRSM) is pleased to announce that we will be expanding our Band Program to include a number of Catholic Schools in the Richmond Diocese starting in the Fall of 2017. Like you, we were very sad to hear of the closing of the Saint Cecilia Band Program (SCBP) this summer, and we guarantee that we will uphold the high standards of music education that you have come to know and love about SCBP. It may be comforting to note that both programs originated from the same source, so this transition should be as seamless as possible and you can be assured that our fine team of Band Directors, who have over 50 years of combined band directing experience, will provide your children with the best possible music instruction. There are three levels of study in which students may participate. The Beginning Band is a beginning level group for students who are learning to play a band instrument for the first time. The Concert Band is an intermediate level group for students who have had 1-3 years of experience playing a band instrument. The Symphonic Band is an advanced level group comprised of students who have had 4+ years of experience playing a band instrument or have demonstrated a high level of proficiency on their instrument. Learn more about our Band Program here.
Altar Servers
If your student would like to be an altar server at School Masses, please see the registration form here. Altar servers must be baptized Catholic students in grades 3-8 who have already made their First Communion. They must also serve weekend Masses at St. Benedict or their home parish. The next altar server training at St. Benedict Church will be held November 4 at 10:00am for those still needing to be trained.
