Spring Camps 2025 - Journey After Death

Registration Closed

The Journey After Death theme will take a deep dive into what happens after we leave this world. Inspired by Sheikh Omar Suleiman's Judgment Day series, we’ll explore the stages of the soul’s journey. We’ll cover death, the grave, the Day of Judgment, and our eternal home. This theme connects to the Hadith of the Prophet SAW: “Be in this world as though you were a stranger or a traveler.” (Sahih al-Bukhari). It’s a reminder that this life is temporary and our real goal is what comes next. While some parts of this topic might feel heavy, we’ll also focus on Allah’s mercy, the rewards of the righteous, and the hope that comes with striving to be better. This camp will be about understanding the hereafter while learning how to live a meaningful and purposeful life today.

Rooted in Revelation - Embodying the Quran’s Message in Every Step

The Quran isn’t just meant to be recited, it’s meant to be lived. The Prophet SAW was described as a "walking Quran," and as his followers, we are called to embody its message in our actions, character, and daily decisions. This camp will focus on applying the Quran’s lessons to real lifestrengthening our faith, improving our relationships, and making ethical choices. Through reflection, discussion, and action, we’ll explore how to turn the Quran’s guidance into a lived reality. It’s time to live by the Quran, not just in words, but in every step.

Hidden Prisoners: The U.S. Census Bureau Doesn’t Count Incarcerated Converts as Muslims

The Ongoing Erasure of Muslim American Stories

By Cynthia Griffith

Mar/Apr 25

Islam is the fastest-growing religion in the world, but in the United States, not all Muslims are accounted for. The U.S. Census Bureau’s religious data does not include one of the largest populations of Muslim Americans: incarcerated converts. This is indicative of a larger effort to make it appear as if the growth of Islam is due to high birth rates and immigration alone,...

Across American Campuses, New Restrictions Have Been Implemented to Stifle Pro-Palestine Sentiments

By Faisal Kutty

The ongoing crackdown on pro-Palestinian campus activism across the United States exposes a troubling double standard in how universities handle free speech. While rhetoric critical of Israeli policies is swiftly condemned and restricted, activism against other regimes, even those with poor human rights records, do not face the same scrutiny. This selective outrage stifles debate, marginalizes dissenting voices, and undermines the principles of academic freedom that universities claim to uphold...

How to be Aware of Deceptive Marketing

Packaged food nutrition labels are important for Muslim consumers because these convey information about the product’s identity while the Ingredient Statement allows them to determine the product’s status as either halal, haram, or doubtful. Green Corner

by Uzma Mirza

Why and highlights of how to Build a Green Masjid?

Building green is economic and ecology in harmony. Sustainability is a way of doing things in balance and green is a tool showing how to achieve balance. Islam is the religion of the middle way where our practice as a community should be rooted in the balance to not exceed as Allah emphasizes in the Quran. Therefore, green is a balanced hue given value as the color of the middle way of life. Humankind was given a trust of this Mercy, which includes the creation of our self. However, as an ummah are we breaching this trust as trustee and blemishing our heart? “We did indeed offer the Trust to the Heavens and the Earth and the Mountains; but they refused to undertake it, being afraid thereof: but man undertook it;- He was indeed unjust and foolish;” (Quran Al Ahzab:72). Building green must begin with a passive design (architecture based on the site, climate, solar factors, topography, local vegetation and materials) with sustainable systems or active design i.e. renewable energy systems. All systems (passive/active) and materials/resources should be purchased based on a life cycle-renewable energy-cost assessment, using a ‘cradle to cradle’ lens. This will lead to a greener and more sustainable Masjid resonating the duty of the khalifah reflecting the beauty of Islam. inshallah
