Niibin (nee-bin) is the Anishinaabemowin word for summer. The Summer Solstice, when the sun reaches its highest point, is a meaningful time for many Indigenous Nations across Turtle Island. It’s a moment to honour the sun, the medicines and foods flourishing in its light, and the teachings that come with this season.

It is a time to recognize and uplift Indigenous cultures, voices, and contributions. Indigenous communities mark the day with sunrise ceremonies, feasts, powwows, and other gatherings rooted in tradition and gratitude.

As Niibin arrives, we’re reminded of our connections - to each other, to the land, and to the responsibilities we carry forward for future generations.

His talk is Your Surrender Experiment which is an exploration of what it means to let go with grace and curiosity. It invites us to view surrender not as giving up, but as entering into partnership with the Universe — releasing what no longer serves us so we can align with something greater.

Nick uses personal stories, humour, and practical insights as a gentle roadmap to living more effortlessly. He hopes you walk away with a deeper trust in your own path and a few simple tools to begin your own surrender experiment.
