“To be grateful is to find the love of God in everything,”
- Thomas Merton
Dear SPN Families,
As we prepare for the Thanksgiving holiday next week, we are reminded to be grateful for all of God’s many blessings – faith, family, home, friends, good health to name a few. By reflecting on our gifts from God, we become more aware that all of our experiences are part of His plan for us and that we can appreciate each and every blessing.
The Student Leadership Council and student body have written a Novena for me in recognition of National Catholic School Principal Appreciation Day on Thursday. As I mentioned at Morning Assembly yesterday, I couldn’t think of a better gift from the students, or anyone, than sincere prayers on my behalf. Remember, we always have the gift of prayer to offer anyone to acknowledge celebration, support, and love.
We are very fortunate here at SPN to have so many wonderful parent volunteers who prepare and provide community events year round. Please read our Newsletter for upcoming events– Book Fair, Winter Wonderland– and opportunities– See’s Candy Storefront– you don’t want to miss.
For all of our school and parish community, we wish you a very Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving.
Peace & Blessings,
Ms. Thomas

Dear SPN Community,
We are excited to invite you to join Konstella if you haven't already! It is a web-and-mobile-based app service with various tools that help parent organizations streamline communications, centralize information, and build engaging parent communities. You can create sign ups, share photos, post alerts, and see what's happening in our SPN community with a handy red bubble on your phone. Currently, about half of the parents are on the platform and we would love to get more signed up to really start to use it as a centralized system. Please use THIS LINK to sign up and get an introduction. We will then follow up with an invitation link to join.
Sincerely,
The PTA and SAB

A New Way to Earn Volunteer Hours & Link to Log Hours
Students in Grades 2 and 4 harvested popcorn from some of the corn we planted last Spring. For a full cycle seed-to-table lesson, they watched as Ms. Kristen popped it for them to eat during Garden Science class.
It's poinsettia season! And this year Troop 78 has invited the Pack 78 cub scouts to join in on offering poinsettias to our SPN family! We have beautiful traditional poinsettias in red and white, as well as Italian stone pine mini-trees, rosemary trees and gorgeous zyco cactus plants for sale! This is our 6th annual fundraiser that helps fund the cost of troop and pack activities. Please reach out to a current scout or visit https://www.troop78alameda.com/ to purchase or for more information! The deadline for ordering is November 27, 2023.

Dear SPN Families,
As we are approaching the Christmas season, we hope you will take part in the annual St. Philip Neri tradition of Adopt-a-family.
For many years, our school has sponsored organizations that assist members of our larger community that are in need of help. This year we are sponsoring Building Futures formerly Midway Shelter, Alameda Point Collaborative and Welcome the Stranger. Our hope is that each student will purchase one or two items from the list. Collection boxes will be placed outside each classroom.
- Pre-School-7th grade: please return the unwrapped gifts no later than December 11, 2023.
- 8th Grade: please return you wrapped gifts no later than December 11, 2023.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
Blessings,
Remely R. Laguicao
