A Strong Finish
Dear SPN Family and Friends,
Thank you all for your presence at our Spring Concert last Wednesday. Our Annual Spring Concert definitely marks the beginning of the end of the school year here at St. Philip Neri Catholic School. The concert theme, “A Celebration of Planet Earth,” highlighted songs that honored nature, animals, and the beauty of our planet as well as how we need to work together to care for our shared home. Like the concert itself, when we all work together on a common goal, success is inevitable.
Many thanks to the parent and student volunteers who facilitated the Math Night last night. It’s always gratifying to see our students enjoying themselves while learning and testing their skills. Special thanks to Helen Wang for organizing this event. Be sure to read about the success of our Math Club participants in this Newsletter.
Today our students participated in our Annual Fun Run, the final fundraiser of the year that brings our community together and allows our students to take an active role in raising funds for school programs. Unlike our other fundraisers, this online fundraiser provides an opportunity for friends and family, far and wide, to donate on behalf of students. We have had some extraordinary student enthusiasm, and some classes have rallied together to bring forth impressive results. There is still time to gather donations for this fundraiser to make it a success by reaching our goal. Thank you all for your support and contributions.
Tomorrow night is a wonderful evening to take the night off from cooking with Dine and Donate at The Hob Nob on Park Street. Unlike other Dine and Donate events, The Hob Nob will give us 15% of their total proceeds from the evening, WITHOUT ANY FLYERS. We hope you’ll take advantage of this opportunity.
Friday evening is our Sports Awards ceremony from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the Church. We look forward to acknowledging the sportsmanship, growth and achievements of our athletes and teams. A few 8th graders will be awarded with Perpetual Awards that are traditionally given to Spartan athletes who for several years have represented themselves and their school with integrity, respect, responsibility and perseverance.
While we are nearing the end of the school year, and for our graduates nearing the end of their years here at St. Philip Neri School, it is so important for all of us to stay focused and finish the school year on a strong note. Our students have a lot to be proud of in terms of their growth and development this year, and our end of year celebrations will be truly joyful and well deserved by maintaining high standards all the way through until the final day. Thank you for partnering with us and ensuring a positive end to this school year.
Peace & Blessings,
Ms. Thomas
