A Fond Farewell

Dear SPN Family and Friends,

This week we say goodbye to the Class of 2024. Yesterday was the Ribbon Ceremony, an unique St. Philip Neri School tradition, when the Kindergarten students present a special ribbon sash to all of the 8th graders to wear with their gowns on Friday, May 31 for the Baccalaureate Mass at 10:00 a.m. and the Graduation Ceremony at 5:00 p.m. The 8th graders also take this opportunity to acknowledge the faculty and staff who have helped them through their years at SPN. It is a week of special activities beginning with the Ribbon Ceremony, the Dinner Dance tonight, and the Picnic on Thursday. We congratulate all of our graduates for their accomplishments, and we wish them all the best in their future endeavors.

As the school year closes, we will also say goodbye to some families who are moving on from SPN as well as faculty. Mr. Quinones has provided Music instruction for our students for several years now, and it is now time for him to spread his wings and his talent beyond St. Philip Neri School. We thank him for all he’s done for our students and community, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors. We will welcome Ms. Lydia Cho to our faculty for the 2024-25 school year as our new Music Teacher. As many of you know, Ms. Cho is our Music Director for St. Philip Neri-St. Albert the Great Parish, and she has led our Student Choir beautifully for the past few years.

There have been #2 positive cases since May 6, 2024. Please remain vigilant in following the Daily Health Screening in order to keep our community healthy and safe.

Our new Student Leadership Council members were installed on May 21th.

Thank you to Ms. Schuler for directing another wonderful Middle School play.

Thank you to Mr. Croft for organizing our annual SPN Olympics Games. Spectators and athletes equally enjoyed it.

The 4th Grade classroom hosted our All School Mass.

Our second grade classroom created a mosaic welcome sign for the Alameda Food Bank.

They are collecting food between May 28 and June 7. Please be on the lookout for collection bins at the school office.

Attention Parents and Middle School Students!
