Principal's Message

Greetings SPN Families,

As we begin to feel the change in the seasons and anticipate the coming of Thanksgiving, we are grateful for our school community and the high quality programs our students enjoy.  In order to ensure that this quality continues, each year we provide the opportunity to give through our SPN Annual Fund Drive.  This drive is your opportunity to help fill the gap between our tuition rate and what it costs to educate your student.

Parishioners at St. Philip Neri-St. Albert the Great are also included in this opportunity to support the school. Mrs. Foster, Mrs. Suer, Mr. Toner and I will be speaking at this weekend’s Masses to kick off this year's campaign. Many of our school families have already contributed toward this year’s goal of $50,000 - and we thank them for their support!  If you have not yet contributed or would like to enhance your contribution, please consider giving any sized gift to support this drive. These funds go directly to supporting Catholic education that reflects our traditions and innovations. Thank you in advance for your generosity that benefits our students and their future.

Our calendar of events kicks into high gear this month, with several fun activities planned for SPN in the next few weeks. Read below for information on Halloween, dressing up like a Saint for All Saints Day, the 8th Grade’s Parent Bingo Night (with childcare) fundraiser, and Math Night in Candyland! The Scholastic Book fair is also just around the corner!

As always, thank you for sending your children to school ready to learn – well rested, well fed, well groomed, and most importantly, loved.

Warmly,

Ms. Thomas

Focus on FAITH: “Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” 1 Peter 1:8-9

Information and Updates

  • Happy Birthday Fr. Joseph!!: We wish our pastor, Fr. Joseph, a very Happy Birthday tomorrow, October 19th! Buon compleanno!
  • Monday, October 31st/HALLOWEEN: Students may come to school in their Halloween costumes. If students are not in costume, they should be in uniform. Costumes MUST NOT include weapons or excessive blood. Costume masks may be worn during the Parade that will begin at 8:15 a.m. The “big school” students will meet the TK and Kindergarten students at Van Buren and Fountain and then proceed around the block from Central to Court to Encinal and back to Fountain. Parents are invited to attend the parade and enjoy coffee provided by our PTG. Halloween Monday is a noon dismissal.
  • All Saints Day: For Tuesday, November 1, All Saints Day, students may come to school dressed up like a saint (this is optional). They will be featured in our All School Mass at 9:30 a.m., hosted by the 7th grade. It’s helpful if students know the name of the saint they portray as well as one fact about him/her.
