Maya Brewer, our Temple Executive Director, has decided to leave Temple Shalom to pursue other opportunities. We would like to thank her for her service and wish her the best in all of her future endeavors.

What’s With All Those Hanukkah Lights?
 
If you were asked, “What is one of the most important tasks you can attain during your lifetime, what would it be?
         
Perhaps it is to be the best parent or to do a good a job at work or school. Or maybe it is to be a good friend, to travel and see the world, to succeed at a sport or master a musical instrument. There are so many answers to what we can achieve during our lifetime.
         
There is a fable which states that a person’s task in their lifetime is to be a “Lamp-Lighter.” What is this?

Please join us for an adult Hanukkah celebration. There will be festive food and signature cocktails. This is a great opportunity to celebrate the holidays with your Temple Shalom community. We hope hope to see you there!

HANUKKAH SHABBAT
Hanukkah is just around the corner and we are preparing for our annual celebration. Join us for dinner, dreidels, traditional Hanukah songs, and prayer.

RSVP and sign up to bring latkes for our annual Hanukkah Latke Contest! There will be a table set up just for the latke bar. Please bring your own  Menorah for the candle lighting ceremony. RSVP HERE .

HAVDALAH IN THE PARK
Our families had a wonderful time at Havdallah in the Park! We sang songs with Cantor Lily, learned about the Havdallah rituals from our 7th graders, and finished the evening with s’mores around the fire! It was a lovely night to schmooze and meet each other in the park.
RELIGIOUS SCHOOL UPDATE
Our students began their Hanukkah curriculum on Monday. They started learning the candle blessings, played the game of dreidel, and sang Hanukkah songs with Cantor Lily! 

Parents, please join us for Parent Visit Day (TK/K through 4th Grade) on Monday, December 11th during the first hour of school.  Participate in classroom Hanukkah games and crafts and take part in our fun classroom activities. Please watch for an email from your teacher for details.
