Happy Feast of Saint Agnes!

On this very cold January morning, it was a blessing to gather with our entire school to celebrate Holy Mass and pray for the continued intercession of our beloved patroness. I’m so pleased with what we are doing in her name here, and I’m sure that she was smiling at the sound of the beautiful voices rising toward heaven this morning. Happy Feast of Saint Agnes!

Aggie Spotlight Night: Saint Agnes High School Talent Show

If you missed this past Saturday evening’s performances by our high school students, it was a phenomenal event that showcased the reasons why so many students love their school.  One attendee stated that: “I attended the Talent show and was completely blown away. What a wonderful evening! And what beautiful support the students showed for one another.” The seniors concluded the show with a Saint Agnes-appropriate version of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody (and I was able to do a cameo appearance at their request)! What a tribute to our phenomenal student culture and the talent in our midst!

Catholic Schools Week Mass 1/26 @ 9AM

As a kickoff to the beginning of Catholic Schools Week next week, Fr. Ubel and I invite you to attend the 9:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday, 1/26, here at the Church of Saint Agnes. Please bring your students to the Mass and have them wear their uniforms (and Saint Agnes School Letter Jackets, etc.) as we represent our school to our parish community and thank them for their support.

Parking Lot Incident Last Week

For reasons of transparency and clarity, I wanted to make you aware of a domestic incident that spilled over into our parking lot last Tuesday evening just after 6:00 p.m.  As a result of a domestic dispute between a man and a young woman from our neighborhood, a yellow pickup truck entered our parking lot and hit two unoccupied, parked vehicles (one belonging to Mr. Boyd and another belonging to a senior student) along with our parking lot fence. Both vehicles and our fence sustained damage. Thank God that no one was injured. We reviewed the video footage, submitted all the footage and information to the police, and a case number was assigned. Mr. Kiehl also recognized the vehicle and got the license number for the police. The incident is now in their hands.  Please say a prayer for all involved, and especially continue praying for the safety of our personnel, students, and property.

Saint Agnes Exodus90

The Saint Agnes Exodus90 group started up again yesterday for all men associated with Saint Agnes. The intention of this group is to gather as group of men who are intent on strengthening their relationship with Jesus through prayer, fasting, and ascetic practices. In short this is group for “recovering Catholics”. This accountability program starts up 90 days before Easter (Lent on Steroids) and helps in the effort to release ourselves from the slavery of the convenience of our modern world (slavery), to true freedom in strengthening our ability to say no to this world and yes to Christ (The Promised Land). We meet every Friday morning at 5:30am in Schuler Hall (Saint Agnes church basement) followed by an optional 6:30am mass in the chapel. If you have any questions and/or interest please reach out to Mr. Joseph Olson at 651-925-8803 or email at jolson@saintagnesschool.org.

If you plan to officially participate in this group, please fill out the RSVP form so we can properly plan out the groups. We will also be assigning everyone an “anchor” or accountability partner and will likely host a social event to get to know one another. Call Mr. Olson if you have any questions.

Saint Agnes Craft Club

The 4-12 grade girls Craft Club is looking for a few parent volunteers who would be willing to help prep the craft supplies for new projects. This would entail a few hours of work and could be done at home. We are also looking for donations for some future projects. If you have cotton fabric, embroidery floss, yarn, crochet hooks, or knitting needs collecting dust at your house we would love to put it to good use! Contact Sr. Incarnata if you are interested in helping prep materials or donating old supplies.

Semester One Honor Roll (7-12) & Lettering in Academics (9-12)

Dr. Michael Adkins, Dean of Academics, is pleased to announce the 2024-25 Semester One Honor Roll:

2024-25 Semester One Honor Roll

Congratulations to all those students who’ve earned a spot! For students in grades 7-12 who earned a spot on the Honor Roll, a certificate will be provided to you soon.

At Saint Agnes School, our goal is that every student achieves the maximum capacity of his or her God-given potential.

Students in grades 7-12 earn a place on the Honor Roll in the following ways:

·    Semester GPA of 3.33-3.66 = Dean's List

·    Semester GPA of 3.67-above = Headmaster's List

The criteria for Academic Honors and qualifying for a letter in Academics are as follows:

First Letter (Academics Patch - Book or Lamp):

·    2 consecutive semesters of Headmaster's (formerly Principal's) List (3.67 GPA and above)

·    3 consecutive semesters of Dean's List (3.33-3.66 GPA)

·    4 consecutive semesters of Honor Roll (3.00-3.32 GPA)

Subsequent Letters (Bar Patch):

·    1 semester of Dean's List or higher

Visit our website to see patch examples and where to purchase them for letter jackets under Academics and “Awards and Honors” tabs. Please note that letter patches are not provided by the school.
