Principal Notes

Dear Parents,

The Red Tie Benefit on Saturday was a great success.  We thank the chairs, Elvira Ramos and April Bergen, and so many others who worked tirelessly these last weeks.  Thank you for everything you did to support the RTB!

If you have not heard, the Fr. Joe Fund reached one million dollars!  This was the best news of the night because it means that we are successful in planning for the future children of St. Philip the Apostle School.  It is crucial that a St. Philip education is available for generations of students to come.

Please keep our 7th-grade class in your prayers this week as they explore and learn at Science Camp on Catalina Island.  We pray that they remain safe and learn much.

Congratulations to our 8th-grade class of 2025 on their high school acceptances.  They received over ninety acceptances and are proudly wearing their high school sweatshirts.  Go Falcons!

Have a wonderful week,

Jennifer

Red Tie Benefit

The St. Philip Community really knows how to Rock the Night Away! Thank you to everyone who came together to make RTB a success! As most of you know, it takes months of planning and countless volunteers to execute such a fun night, it would not happen without everyone’s generous time. We truly appreciate it!

We would like to thank Jennifer Ramirez for trusting and supporting our vision for holding the event at school. Thank you to our Benefit Co-Chairs, Elvira Ramos and April Bergen, for your dedication and leadership. The event would not have been a success without you! Thank you to Linsey Reyes who planned and executed the evening's flow. To our VP of fundraising, Brandi Mathisen, Development Director, Tricia Ortega, and the entire office staff for going above and beyond to support the RTB team.

A big shoutout to Lionel Mabasa and George Torres for the entertainment! To our Video Coordinators who continue to create and amaze us with their talent, Chris Marrs and Chris James and your team - Timothy Kendall and Lisa Bruchey. Thank you Mr. Yniguez for always rising to the occasion with your awesome acting skills! To Shawna Martin, our Greater Giving coordinator, thank you for managing all the behind-the-scenes data. Special thanks to our amazing procurement chairs, Lindsay Sloane and Jaime Stoney, for assembling such an impressive silent auction.

We also extend our gratitude to Ani Moreno and Cherlene Stones for coordinating our volunteers, and to our Buy-In Party organizers Adele Crawford and Celene Lyddon — thank you for your creativity and hard work. There are so many moving parts that go into making an evening like this happen, and we’re thankful for every single person who played a role in its success.

Finally, a sincere thank you to our Sponsorship lead Erika Reaume and all the generous sponsors and donors shown below - your support makes all the difference!

Tuition and Fees

As a gentle reminder, families on Tuition Plan A and B agree to donate at least $15 per week, or $780 per year, to the Parish and attend mass every weekend. It’s highly encouraged to make your donations through Faith Direct, but envelopes dropped in the weekly offertory baskets are always welcome. We look forward to celebrating mass with you and your family this weekend.

Reminders

Fingerprinting and Virtus Upcoming Dates

Live Scan Fingerprinting April 14, 2025 - Call the school office at 626-795-9691 to schedule your appointment if you have not been fingerprinted and would like to volunteer on campus or qualify for a tuition service plan.

Virtus - Call the parish at 626-793-0693 to register for upcoming April classes and recertification classes.

Lapses in Volunteer Requirements

TB and Virtus must be renewed every four years. Live Scan fingerprints do not expire.

For Tuition Plans A & C, both parents are required to maintain their volunteer requirements up to date. Lapses will cause tuition plans to default to non-service plans, resulting in a tuition increase for your student(s).

Please be sure to have current TB clearance, Fingerprinting, Code of Conduct, and current VIRTUS certificates on file in the school office to qualify for volunteering and a service hour tuition plan (plans A & C).

Tuition Plan Changes 2025-26

If you would to change to a volunteer tuition plan for the 2025-26 school year, please make sure we have all of your volunteer requirements in the office by April 30.

Golf is a very challenging and fun sport that can lead to college scholarships. So start early and start now...boys and girls! Even if your child already plays, it is great to enjoy weekly, convenient lessons from the pro. (Click Here to read more on how and why your child can benefit from continuing professional, golf practice with Golf Squad at your school.)
